Mohamed Iqbal Kompatheyill commonly credited as Iqbal Kuttipuram is an Indian screenwriter and homeopathy physician. He has written screenplays for popular films such as Niram, Swapnakoodu, and 4 the people.

Biography

He was born on May 15, 1970 in Malappuram District, Kerala. His father is Kompatheyill Mohamedali and mother is Raramkandath Nafeeza. He completed his studies in MES College Ponnani.

After his pre-graduation he joined Dr. Padiar Memorial Homeopathic Medical College, Ernakulam, Kerala for DHMS, Government Homoeopathic Medical College Kozhikkode for B H M S and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences for M D ( HOM) for his studies in Homoeopathic Medical Science. Currently he is working in Dubai as a Homoeopathic Physician.

The film begins when Vasudeva Shenoy (Anoop Menon), a police constable by profession, proposes to his colleague Lakshmi (Lena) with a strong objection from Vasudeva Shenoy's mother. In the meantime Kunjunni Menon (Santhosh Keezhattoor), a thief, who disguised as a police inspector, falls in love with Lakshmi. Kunjunni Menon then convinces Lakshmi and her family to agree to marriage. Lakshmi later comes to know that her husband had cheated her. Lakshmi and Kunjunni however pretend to have an amicable marriage as she gives birth to Adithyan (Dulquer Salmaan). On the same day Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) was also born to Vasudeva Shenoy and his new wife. Laksmi further gives birth to two daughters. Kunjunni gets caught by Shenoy after committing a theft and was dragged to the jeep in front of his son (Adityan). Adithyan becomes very depressed and refuses to accept his father. Kunjunni unable to face his son, commits suicide. Adityan (Dulquer Salmaan), Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) and Deepika Pai(Namitha Pramod) befriend each other as schoolmates and the story proceeds to their adulthood.

Oru Indian pranayakadha is a love story which shows the reletionship between a trickesh person named Aymanam Sidharthan (Fahadh Faasil) and a disciplined canadian citizen of malayali orgin named Irene Gardner (Amala Paul). In the beginning , the story shows the political life of Sidharthan .He is the local youth wing leader political outfit. Protégé of the district president of the party , Uthup Vallikkadan (Innocent), Sidharthan hopes to make it big in politics . However , his dreams are shattered when the party High command decides to nominate the daughter of one of the party's senior leader's daughter named Vimala Ramanathan (Muthumani). This leads the young politician in despair. During this time the girl Irene Gardner visits kerala to shoot a documentary. she is in search of an assistant to help her in shoot the film and approaches Uthup. Uthup requests Sidharthan to meet her and assist her. Sidharthan unwillingly went but when Irene promises ₹2000 per day for the assistant, so Siddharthan, who has financial issues, agrees to help her.

The film narrates the story of "Cuba" Mukundan (Sreenivasan) . He is a staunch leftist who lives for the movement. Machinations of a corrupt politician Karunan (Guruvayoor Sivaji) who perceives Mukundan as a threat to his political career force Mukundan to take up a job in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Even in Dubai, he finds that Kunjunny Muthalaly (Jagathy Sreekumar) who was in league with Karunan is in Dubai, exploiting the helpless labourers who migrate to the Gulf performing menial jobs and physical labor in order to support their families back home. He has always had a soft corner for People's Republic of China as a result of his leftist leanings and when he meets Zhang Chu Min (Zhang Chu Min), a Chinese girl, she quickly finds a special place in his heart as she symbolizes China to him. Later even after realising that she is an anti communist and is there to make money for the treatment of her boyfriend who fought against the Chinese Government, he gives her his earnings saying a communist never keeps money more than his requirements. Mukundan, with the help of his friends Anwar, Maya, and Karim, exposes the machinations of Karunan and Kunjunny Muthalaly. Finally Mukundan returns home to work for the political cause which has been his life and love.
