Frédéric Talgorn est un compositeur français de musiques de films, né le 2 juillet 1961 à Toulouse.

Biography

Né le 2 juillet 1961 à Toulouse, Frédéric Talgorn vit et travaille aux États-Unis où il a commencé sa carrière en 1989 avec Docteur Jekyll et M. Hyde (film, 1989) (Edge of Sanity).

Depuis Le Brasier, en 1991, il compose aussi pour le cinéma français et connait plusieurs succès dont Anthony Zimmer et Les aiguilles rouges.

Comme chef d'orchestre, il réenregistre en studio (avec l'Orchestre royal national écossais notamment) des classiques hollywoodiens pour le label cinéphile Varèse-Sarabande (cf. son propre site )

Début septembre 1960, dans la Vallée de Chamonix à l'époque où de Gaulle est empêtré dans l'échec des négociations en pleine guerre d'Algérie. Un camp scout est installé entre Chamonix et Argentière. Huit de ces jeunes scouts, âgés de 12 à 16 ans, sont très dissipés et s'isolent fréquemment du camp pour jouer à des jeux parfois relativement dangereux. À titre punitif le chef de troupe du camp envoie les huit scouts en patrouille, les "Aigles", pour une randonnée de trois jours jusqu'au sommet du massif du Brévent (2 525 m d'altitude), où se trouve le refuge de la "Réserve des Aiguilles Rouges", et ils devront passer la nuit en bivouac avec une autre patrouille, les "Panthères", issue d'une autre troupe. Planning prévu : départ au lever du soleil depuis le presbytère de Chamonix, une distance de 12 km de marche jusqu'au sommet, puis retour, le tout dans les trois jours. Patrick, 16 ans, le plus âgé des huit, sera le chef de patrouille. Ses sept jeunes compagnons seront sous sa responsabilité. Mais tous ces adolescents sont d'origines et de milieux très différents, certains se détestent violemment et ne manquent pas de le montrer à chaque occasion, et la randonnée prend très vite l'allure d'une expédition où les relations entre les adolescents seront aussi éprouvantes que la montagne.

Anthony Zimmer is a genius career criminal wanted by police around the world. In an asteroid excavation, space crewman Tyler and his colleague find a green crystal that is rumored to be the key to a fountain of immortality, however, it makes whoever touches it insane. Fortress 2 takes place about 10 years later. John Brennick is somewhere in North America, apparently still on the run since he takes a shotgun with him everywhere. His son Danny tells him that his wife Karen wants John to come home immediately. When they arrive there are three people waiting for them. They ask John to help them destroy Men-Tel's new power station, saying that the company is on the verge of collapse and "without their power, they have no power". John refuses, wanting to protect his family, so the trio leave on a boat. As John waves goodbye, two Men-Tel helicopters appear and John scrambles his family's escape plan. He sends Danny and Karen through an underground passage while he leads the soldiers on a wild goose chase. The battle ends, though, with one helicopter destroyed, but Brennick's Jeep is overturned.

In the 1950s Dorothy Nelson (Brittany Murphy) joins the United States Navy where she meets the Friends of Dorothy, a code name for a group of gay and lesbian sailors. Nelson meets Billy (Jason Priestley), who takes her to an interracial nightclub that tolerates gay people. However, the NCIS raids the nightclub, and Nelson is among those servicemembers who receive a Section 8 discharge for "sexual perversion." Returning to Homer, she tries to restart her life as a public school teacher, but her Section 8 discharge prevents her from getting a job. When her homosexuality becomes public knowledge, her mother expels her from the house, forcing her to seek shelter at a family friend's grocery store. However, the townspeople disapprove of this arrangement, and Nelson becomes homeless. An independent-minded woman named Janet (Helen Shaver) at the local diner defends her against the verbal harassment and advises Nelson to go to the bohemian Greenwich Village, the only place where she might be free to be herself.
