George Sluizer (born 25 June 1932 in Paris, of Dutch and Norwegian parents), is a Dutch filmmaker whose credits include features as well as documentary films.
He is best known for directing two versions of The Vanishing, a 1988 Dutch-language release, originally titled Spoorloos, and a 1993 American version. Other feature films directed by Sluizer include Utz (1992) for producer John Goldschmidt, Crimetime (1995), and Dark Blood, which was discontinued after the death of its lead actor River Phoenix, but later completed and premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival in 2012. The film was shown two more times publicly on 2 October 2012 at the same festival.

The film tells the story of filmmaker George Sluizer (Spoorloos, The Vanishing) from the moment he decides to finally finish his unfinished film Dark Blood. Being of old age, however, Sluizer is expected by doctors to die at any given moment due to him suffering from a ruptured artery. While Sluizer struggles with his health and his movie, he takes a look back in time at his turbulent life in the film industry.

The movie begins with Harry (Pryce), an up-and-coming actor, and his wife Buffy (Davis) on their "second honeymoon". Crimetime is set in the future where the media is nearly omnipotent.
