Hamza Ali Abbasi is a Pakistani theater, film and television actor, model and director. He is best known for his role as Afzal in drama serial Pyarey Afzal and Azam in drama serial Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley. Abbasi began his acting career from theatre play Dally in the Dark in 2006 which was Shah Shahrahbeel's production. While in filmography he made his debut in a short film Glorious Resolve (2010), a direction of Bilal Lashari. In 2013, he appeared in feature films of Pakistani Cinema, Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Waar for which he received Best Star Debut Male and Best Supporting Actor at 1st ARY Film Awards, respectively.

Ho Mann Jahaan is a coming of age urban story set in present day Karachi. The film revolves around three main characters – Arhan (Sheheryar Munawar), Manizeh (Mahira Khan) and Nadir (Adeel Husain). The story is about their friendship born out of shared experiences, passion for music and aspiration for fame. Sonya Jehan plays the role of Sabina, a powerful independent character symbolizing strength and wisdom. The film is also a reflection of the current dichotomy that exists in our society where we talk of free will but readily accept conformity. Parents impose restrictions and dictate terms, because they love their children but at times don't understand them. This is a film of many layers, connecting to both younger as well as the older generation.

The film tells the story of the heavily outnumbered infantry soldiers who fought off an assault by 1500 attackers who raided a section level outpost of an Infantry Battalion in South Waziristan Agency on the night of 29 May 2009. 43 Punjab jawans were killed in the battle, and their deaths are reenacted in the film, as well as the actions of two "Ghazis"—Sepoy Mashooq and Sepoy Muslim—who held their positions until reinforcements came. The film aims to depict the sacrifices and achievements of the Pakistan Army in the Global War on Terrorism as well as the Pakistan Army's "glorious resolve" to uproot the menace of terrorism from the "land of the pure".
