Harald Reinl (born 8 July 1908, Bad Ischl, Austria — died 9 October 1986, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) was an Austrian film director. He is especially known for the movies he made based on Edgar Wallace and Karl May books (see Karl May movies and Edgar Wallace movies) and also made Mountain films, Heimatfilms, German war films and entries in such popular German film series as Dr. Mabuse, Jerry Cotton and Kommissar X.
Reinl started his career as an extra in the mountain-films of Arnold Fanck. He worked as screenwriter on the film Tiefland. Reinl's first movie as director was Bergkristall (1949).
He was stabbed to death by his alcoholic wife, the former Czech actress Daniela Maria Delis.

Meteorologist Hannes (Sepp Rist) works alone at a remote weather station below the summit of Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Every day he gathers data on weather conditions. When the weather is clear, he is able to use his telescope to gaze down at the town of Chamonix in the valley far below. His solitary life is interrupted only by the daily weather reports he transmits via Morse code to various weather centers throughout Europe. He is also able to listen to his friend Walter perform his organ concerts on the radio.

Au temps de la ruée vers l'or, le trappeur Don Rutland aide Sanders, un prospecteur qui a découvert une mine dans un cimetière indien, mais qui s'est blessé dans un accident comme son jeune fils Billy. Au camp Kino, pendant ce temps, un transport est mis en place sous la direction du shérif Cotton pour amener l'or qu'ont ramassé les mineurs à Paradise Creek. Le médecin-chef Paul Fabian travaille dans le service de chirurgie de l'hôpital dirigé par le Dr. Spalke. Cotton is called in to investigate a crime on Broadway because a FBI agent has died while working undercover. Before he has expired he got rid of the booty from a recently committed huge robbery. Where he disposed of it is unknown. All of the culprits are arrested by the FBI but the main villain Costello is soon broken free by a hitherto rivaling gang. His new accomplices presume he knew the location of the booty and he tries to live up to their expectations. The demised agent's girl-friend Cindy cannot help but notice she needs protection. Jerry Cotton hears her calling and stops at nothing to catch Costello.

The plot chronology is set in the 18th century and the probable story location is Germany. Baroness Lilian von Brabant and her lawyer Roger Mont Elise receive an invitation to the Blood Castle, in Sander Valley, where a large inheritance is awaiting the baroness. Both decide to go; the Baroness because of the inheritance and Roger seeing a chance to get more information regarding his birth. Upon arriving at the valley, they meet the monk Fabian with a proclivity for profanities who offers to assist them in finding their way to the castle, the place where, forty years ago, Count Regula had murdered twelve maidens, in an attempt to use their blood to achieve immortality. However he was one maiden short of his goal, and he was drawn, quartered and beheaded for his crime. As he was dying, the Count threatened revenge against those responsible for his death.

Siegfried von Xanten defeats the dragon Fafnir, and becomes invulnerable by bathing in the beast's blood. He then wins a net of invisibility (Tarnkappe) and the legendary Treasure of the Nibelungs (Nibelungenschatz) from the dwarf Alberich. Siegfried falls in love with Kriemhild, sister of King Gunther of Burgund. However, Gunther will not allow Siegfried to marry her until he has helped Gunther to win a wife himself. They travel to Iceland where Siegfried helps Gunther to defeat and win Queen Brunhild. They return to the Burgundian court at Worms and both weddings take place. However, jealousy and envy cause frictions at the court. Intrigues eventually result in Hagen of Tronje killing Siegfried during a hunt. In part 2, Kriemhild marries Etzel, king of the huns, in order to gain revenge for the murder of her husband. The Burgundians, led by Gunther and Hagen, follow an invitation after Kriemhild gives birth to Ortileb, and travel to Etzel's hall, where they are attacked by the huns. Hagen kills Ortileb in the fight. There is a great slaughter and Gunther is killed. Finally Kriemhild kills Hagen and is then killed herself.
