Il a réalisé en 1961 La Ligne droite, adapté du roman d'Yves Gibeau, un long métrage produit par la société de Claude Chabrol.

Biography
Après avoir travaillé aux laboratoires L.T.C., il est stagiaire au montage sur Le Rouge et le Noir de Claude Autant-Lara, puis sur Les Diaboliques et Les Hommes en blanc. Il est assistant-monteur pour la première fois avec Marguerite de la nuit.Il a été pendant près de 20 ans, dès Le Beau Serge le monteur attitré de Claude Chabrol : son épouse Monique Fardoulis l'assiste sur plusieurs films de Chabrol ; elle lui succède auprès de ce dernier lorsqu'il se retire de la profession.
Il a réalisé en 1961 La Ligne droite, adapté du roman d'Yves Gibeau, un long métrage produit par la société de Claude Chabrol.

Comme chaque année à Zitouna, passe un montreur d'ours. Avec sa créature, il vient défier la petite communauté. Et comme tous les ans, c'est Slimane El Mabrouk qui défend l'honneur de la tribu. Mystérieusement, un jour, après le meurtre d'un légionnaire français, Omar disparaît dans le maquis, tandis que sa soeur meurt en couches. Omar reviendra au village, bien plus tard, une fois l'indépendance acquise, en représentant du pouvoir et avec cette formule énigmatique :"Il faut que vous sachiez que la Révolution ne vous a pas oubliés". Hélène Régnier's (Audran) mentally ill husband Charles (Drouot) injures their son Michel in a violent rage. A beautiful Italian businesswoman, Lucille Lombardi (Monica Vitti), discovers that her boyfriend and marketing director, Julien Auchard (Robert Hossein), has bankrupted her family business, cheated her out of her wealth, and left her penniless.
