Jean-Pierre Leroux est un acteur français, né le 30 avril 1938 à Lille.
Essentiellement actif dans le théâtre, il a participé à de nombreuses pièces. Également très actif dans le doublage, il est notamment la voix française régulière de Malcolm McDowell, Derek Jacobi, Héctor Elizondo et Sam Anderson ainsi qu'une des voix de John Hurt, il a aussi été la voix de Murdoc (Michael Des Barres) dans la série télévisée MacGyver. Il s'est également illustré, durant plus de 35 ans, par ses lectures de textes lors des débats des Lundis de l'Histoire sur France Culture. En 2012, il apparaît dans la série française à succès de France 3, Plus belle la vie.
Élève primé du Conservatoire national d'art dramatique en 1966, il a notamment travaillé avec Jean-Laurent Cochet sur Andromaque et Georges Vitaly pour Quoat-Quoat d'Audiberti.

In a series of flashbacks played in reverse chronological order it is related that in 1939, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm investigated a series of murders in Eastern Europe. Erzebet Ondrushko, a vampire who bathed in the blood of innocents to stay young, was responsible. She had sold her soul to the Queen of Witches, the goddess Hecate, and had just kidnapped the fiancee of one of the townsmen. When the search party confronted Erzebet in her castle, all members of the party were horribly killed, and Bruttenholm was left to face her alone. He tricked her into the sunlight, effectively destroying her.

The story starts in a forest called Holiday Woods with seven trees containing doors leading to towns representing various holidays: Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween and the Fourth of July. Halloween Town is a fantasy world filled with citizens such as deformed monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, vampires, werewolves and witches. Jack Skellington, a skeleton known as The Pumpkin King, leads them in organizing the annual Halloween holiday. However, in a monologue, Jack reveals he has grown weary of the same routine year after year, and wants something more. Wandering dejectedly in the woods, he stumbles across the seven holiday doors and accidentally opens a portal to Christmas Town, whose residents are charged with organizing the annual Christmas holiday. Impressed by the bright and cheery feeling and style of Christmas, Jack presents his findings and his understanding of Christmas, to the Halloween Town residents. However, they fail to grasp his meaning and compare everything to their ideas of Halloween, although there is one Christmas character they can relate to: the fearsome lobster-like king of Christmas Town who flies at night, named "Sandy Claws". Meanwhile, Jack who barely understands Christmas himself, obsessively tries to study the holiday but fails to grasp any further meaning of it. He ultimately decides that since he cannot understand it, he should improve it, and announces that the citizens of Halloween Town will take over Christmas this year.

Toaster is a feminine-voiced leader of a group of appliances consisting of an antique radio, a gooseneck lamp, Lampy; an electric blanket, Blanky; and a vacuum cleaner, Kirby, who belong to their master, Rob. The film begins with a stand-alone 17-minute supporting feature entitled The Crimson Permanent Assurance (directed by Gilliam). A group of elderly office clerks in a small accounting firm rebel against their emotionlessly efficient, yuppie corporate masters. According to Adams' Lapine language, culture and mythology, the world was created by the god Frith, who represents the Sun.
