Justine Florence Saunders, OAM (20 February 1953 – 15 April 2007) was an Australian stage, film and television actress. She was a member of the Woppaburra indigenous people, from the Kanomie clan of Keppel Island in Queensland. She was born next to a railway track. At the age of 11, she was removed from her mother Heather, and taken to Brisbane and placed in a convent. Heather was not told of Justine's whereabouts for more than ten years, and spent much of that time searching for her.

The film takes place in late 1999. India has an out-of-control nuclear satellite in orbit that is about to re-enter the atmosphere at any time, contaminating large areas of the Earth. This has caused a massive panic, with everyone trying to flee the likely impact sites. Caught in a traffic jam, impatient and disconnected Claire Tourneur (Solveig Dommartin) escapes the highway congestion by taking a side road. Her dashboard computer system announces she has left the map zone database and is on her own. She then has a couple of odd encounters, first with a pair of bank robbers (which leaves her with a large amount of cash), then with a hitchhiker being pursued by an armed party. Claire discovers, after falling in love with the enigmatic fugitive, that he is the son of a scientist (played by Max von Sydow), and has absconded with the prototype of a secret research project. Multiple government agencies and freelance bounty hunters are chasing him to recover the device.

Tribly, jeune metisse, vit dans un quartier de bidonvilles dans la banlieue d'une grande cite australienne. Par ambition elle reussit a convaincre Mollie, sa mere, et Jack son pere, d'aller vivre dans le quartier blanc. Tous font un effort et ils emmenagent dans une maison neuve loin de la zone. Mais Mollie ne supporte pas l'indifference du quartier et regrette la convivialite de la "zone". Quant a Tribly elle est ecartelee entre deux mondes. L'auteur de "Breaker Morant" realise avec ce film un projet qui lui tenait a coeur depuis six ans.
