Ramanujam Iyengar, also known as Ambi, is an orthodox Brahmin and a straightforward consumer protection advocate living in Chennai. He expects everyone to follow the laws and prosecutes those who flout them. However, his efforts fail as circumstantial evidence always seems to favour the accused. He also fails to raise civic awareness due to pervasive corruption and a general lack of seriousness. Frustrated at his inability to bring about a change in society, his suppressed anger manifests itself in an alter-ego named "Anniyan", a grim reaper-themed serial killer who punishes corrupt and indifferent people. Anniyan creates a website, compiles a list of wrongdoers from his site, and kills them using punishments described in the Garuda Purana, one of the ancient Hindu scriptures.

The story is about Agathiyar muni is considered to be the embodiment of one of celestial intellectual who descended on earth to enlighten human being. During wedding of Lord Shiva and Parvathi, the earth tilted to the Northern side, as the whole world was witnessing the marriage. Lord Shiva gave the responsibility of balancing the earth to Agathiyar by going to Southern side. Agathiyar is also given additional responsibility of spreading goodness and equality. The end of the story sekhar and the co-passenger set some sensitive drama like sekhar commit suicide, the same time sekhar father was advertise newspaper for agree sekhar marriage. Then, who travel the passengers are arranged for sekahar and geetha another lalitha and Vasu marriage at Kanniyakumari temple.

The film revolves around Lord Murugan, his birth, marriage and his acceptance of the post of the head of the army of heaven. In Hinduism, there are six abodes of lord Muruga, known as the "Arupadaiveedu". The story behind each of the abodes are portrayed choronologically in the film. It starts with Swamimalai, where Lord Muruga (Master Sridhar) teaches the meaning of the word 'OM' to his father, Lord Shiva (Gemini Ganesan). He goes to Palani Hills after a fight over a sacred fruit, that is his second abode. Then he wins over the demon king Surapadman in Thiruchendur and that is his third abode. The King of heaven, Lord Indra offers his Daughter's hand in appreciation of Lord Muruga's Victory and he marries her in Thirupparamkunram, his fourth abode. He later marries Valli in his fifth abode of Thiruthani, later after a short dispute between both his wives they amicably settle in Pazhamudircholai, his sixth abode. All the events are summarised by Nakkeerar, a great Tamil Poet portrayed by Sirkazhi Govindarajan at the end of the film.
