Paloma Bloyd (born in Chicago, Illinois) is an actress.

Biography

Paloma Bloyd was born in Chicago, USA. She grew up in Spain until she was 9 years old and then moved to South Florida with her family. She graduated from high school when she was 16. It was during a psychology class in her first year of college in Chicago that she realized she wanted to be an actress. She began her studies in the Actors Studio of Chicago where she participated in various theatrical plays. Later on she moved back to Florida, where she began working as a reporter for the entertainment program Chocolate Mix for Telemundo channel (Canal 43).

When she turned 18 she returned to Spain with her mother. In Gijón she continued her dramatic arts studies in the ESAD (Superior School for Dramatic Arts of Asturias), and it was then, that she presented herself to the casting for Supermodelo 2007. She was chosen to participate in the contest and ranked semi-finalist.

In 2008, she was chosen to form part of the cast of a theater production for the play Adulterios, written by Woody Allen, starring alongside "Almodovar actresses" María Barranco and Miriam Díaz-Aroca, directed by Verónica Forqué. Visiting more than 60 cities during the one-year national tour, the play is currently programmed in the prestigious "Teatro Maravillas" in Madrid.

During that year she also worked in various ad campaigns for the clothing fashion line Oso Blanco and the Spanish designer Maribel Salvy.

In 2009 she continued working in Theater as well as television, participating Spanish TV series, Doctor Mateo with Gonzalo de Castro and Daniel Freire, and in Cuatro, Cuestión de sexo, with Alejandro Tous. She has also been chosen to star in proclaimed film director Daniel Calparsoro's upcoming television film Inocentes.

In 2010 she was cast to play a supporting role in Mabrouk El Mechri's feature film "The Cold Light of Day" starring Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver and Henry Cavill. She also appears in Enrique Urbizu's upcoming film No Habra Paz Para Los Malvados .

Between 2011 and 2013 she worked on successful Spanish television shows such as El Barco, Aguila Roja, Angel o Demonio, El Internado, Sofia and No Soy Como Tu.

In 2013 she plays the recurring role of Princess Carlotta de Aragona on Tom Fontanas BORGIA: Faith and Fear aired on Canal+ France and Netflix .

In 2014 she is chosen to play Nikki, her first lead role in a film in Federico Moccias PERDONA SI TE LLAMO AMOR, produced by Telecinco Cinema with a Spanish as well as international release. PERDONA SI TE LLAMO AMOR tells the story of Nikki, a 17 year old girl who lives an unconventional love story with Alex, a man who is 20 years older than her.

In 2015 LITTLE GALICIA is premiered in Spanish cinemas nationwide.

Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) works as an advisor in San Francisco. During the summer break, he reluctantly visits his family in Spain for a holiday. He is met there by his father, Martin Shaw (Bruce Willis), who is himself an advisor for the government. That evening, phone calls put Will in a bad mood and he decides to go fishing the next day. His preoccupation with the phone results in a sailing accident; Will leaps to save his brother's (Rafi Gavron) girlfriend Dara (Emma Hamilton) from being hit by the yacht's boom but she hits her head on a winch. While everyone is fussing over Dara, Will's phone rings again. In frustration, Martin grabs it and throws it into the ocean. Will decides to swim to town to fetch medical supplies and take some time to cool down.

Santos Trinidad, a corrupt policeman, goes drinking late at night. After he is thrown out of a bar, he aggressively demands that a waitress at another bar serve him despite the fact that they are closed. The owner attempts to defuse the situation by offering Trinidad a free drink, but he inadvertently offends Trinidad, who breaks his nose. The bouncer draws a pistol, and Trinidad shoots each of them dead. As Trinidad cleans up the evidence, an eyewitness escapes. After Trinidad studies their wallets for clues on the identity of the eyewitness, he destroys all identifying papers.
