Sırrı Süreyya Önder (born 7 July 1962) is a Turkish film director, actor, screenwriter, columnist and politician with Turkmen ancestry. Elected into the parliament as an independent but backed by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) following the Turkish general election, 2011, he later joined the BDP. He competed in the 2014 municipal elections as the candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the sister party of the BDP, in the race for the mayorship of Istanbul. He approximately got %9 of the vote. He currently acts as a MP of HDP from Istanbul. In the general elections on June 7, 2015 he was elected as MP for the 1. voting district of Ankara Province.

Ensar (Nejat İşler) has turned into a ruthless death machine during his military service, during which he fought terrorists in numerous clashes in southeast Anatolia. Having just completed his compulsory military service, Ensar returns home, but on the very day he comes home, he finds out that while he was away, his 12-year-old sister was raped. Later, unable to cope with the trauma, the little girl hung herself at a mental asylum she was put in following the incident. In the meantime, Ensar’s hometown is shaken with a number of murders. Two skillful detectives from the homicide department, Abbas (Uğur Yücel) and “Akrep” Celal (Kenan İmirzalıoğlu), along with rookie Ezo (Berrak Tüzünataç) are assigned to investigate the murders. The case will be the last one Abbas has to solve before the retirement he has been anticipating for a long time to put into practice his plans to move to a quiet and far away place with his longtime girlfriend Cavidan (Ceyda Düvenci).

Meryem (Özgü Namal), a young woman of about 17 years old, is believed to have been violated, and her village's customs call for her to be killed to restore honor and dignity to her family and village. A young, newly returned war veteran and son of the village leader, Cemal (Murat Han), is ordered to take Meryem to Istanbul and kill her, but at the last minute he doesn't allow himself to complete the task and the two, now unable to ever return to their village, run away together.
