Max, 12 ans, est amoureux d'une fille qui ne le remarque même pas. Élève de 6e, il attend avec impatience une fête pour se rapprocher d'elle. Avec ses deux amis Thor et Lucas, il forme les Bean Bag Boys. Ils sont tous les trois invités à leur première soirée. Mais les trois compères paniquent à l'idée d'embrasser une fille. Comment faire ? Max décide alors d’utiliser le drone de son père, malgré l'interdiction formelle de ce dernier. Max s'en sert donc pour espionner sa voisine et son petit ami. Six ans après les événements du premier film (Les Mondes de Ralph), Ralph La Casse et Vanellope restent toujours les meilleurs amis du monde et s'amusent chaque nuit à jouer ensemble. Alors que Ralph est heureux de la vie qu'il a, Vanellope avoue être ennuyée par son jeu, qui est trop prévisible, et aimerait de la nouveauté. Un jour, Ralph essaie d'exaucer son souhait en créant une course bonus dans l'un des circuits. Vanellope va contre la joueuse de la borne d'arcade pour profiter de la course à fond, tant et si bien que la joueuse, en forçant trop sur le volant, le casse. La situation paraît désespérée lorsque le propriétaire de la salle d'arcade, M. Litwak, annonce que le créateur de Sugar Rush a fait faillite, quand l'un des adolescents trouve un volant sur eBay. Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is a desk-bound CIA analyst guiding her partner Agent Bradley Fine (Jude Law) on a mission to Varna from a CIA office in the Washington, D.C. area. Nick Hendricks, Dale Arbus, and Kurt Buckman decide to start their own business after tiring of working for ungrateful bosses. Their idea is a car-wash-inspired shower head called the "Shower Buddy". They have trouble finding investors until they are approached by Bert Hanson and his son Rex. Bert admires their commitment to manufacturing the product themselves, while Rex prefers to outsource to China, and agrees to invest if they can make 100,000 units. Taking out a business loan, the three rent a warehouse, hire employees, and manage to produce their output. However, Bert backs out of their deal at the last minute, claiming that he never signed an agreement, and he plans on taking their inventory in foreclosure and selling them (renamed the "Shower Pal") himself, while leaving the three in $500,000 debt with their outstanding loan.

A low-level marijuana dealer named David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) who lives in Denver is robbed of his money and stash, some of which he owes to his wealthy drug lord supplier Brad Gurdlinger (Ed Helms). After David is brought to him, Gurdlinger forces David to smuggle marijuana from Mexico as a solution to clear his debt. Realizing that one man attempting to get through customs is too suspicious, he hires a middle-aged stripper neighbor stage-named Rose (Jennifer Aniston), a runaway and petty thief named Casey (Emma Roberts), and his 18-year-old neighbor Kenny (Will Poulter), to pose as a bogus family called the "Millers". When the Millers reach the compound, they find out that the amount of marijuana they were picking up is not "a smidge" as Gurdlinger had informed them, but actually two tons. Because of the extra load of the marijuana on the RV, one of the radiator hoses breaks while going up a steep incline. A family they had encountered at the border, the Fitzgeralds, consisting of Don (Nick Offerman), Edith (Kathryn Hahn), and Melissa (Molly Quinn), catch up to them and tow the Millers' RV to a repair shop. On the trip to the shop, David learns that Don Fitzgerald is a DEA agent after finding his badge and gun in the glove compartment.
