Samuel Bischoff (August 11, 1890 – May 21, 1975) was an American film producer who was responsible for more than 400 full-length films, two-reel comedies, and serials between 1923 and 1964.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Bischoff graduated from Boston University, then headed for Hollywood, where he began his career in 1923 by producing comedy shorts. He drew the attention of Columbia Pictures head Harry Cohn, who hired him to supervise the studio's feature film productions. In 1932, he moved to Warner Bros., but returned to Columbia in 1941. He was also the President of Moroccan Pictures Inc. in 1948, producing the George Raft film 'Outpost in Morocco'. His last film was The Strangler (1964).

Bischoff died in Hollywood.

Leo Kroll (Buono) is a mother-fixated lab technician who collects dolls. He is also a serial killer, responsible for the death of a number of nurses, and is questioned by the police regarding those murders, but is released. Jeff Clanton, an Army major from Missouri, captures the survivors of the Confederacy's Quantrill's Raiders to give themselves up and pledge their allegiance to the Union. Clanton pledges that they will be paroled, but Matthew Fowler, a carpetbagger who owns a powerful detective agency, is determined to arrest them for the reward.
