Warren Duff (May 17, 1904 – August 5, 1973) was a film and television writer and producer.
As a writer, Duff wrote for films including, Fashions of 1934, Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), Experiment Perilous (1944), Step Lively (1944), Chicago Deadline (1949) and Appointment with Danger (1951).
He worked on television programs including The Invaders (1967) and Mannix (1967).
Duff, the producer of the film noir classic Out of the Past (1947), was once and actor and director on the New York City stage before turning to screenwriting when he entered the film business in 1931.

John Conroy, a crusading district attorney, is tasked to crack down on a crime syndicate, which proves more dangerous because the mob has many city officials under their control. The story takes place in 1903. During a train trip, psychiatrist Dr. Huntington Bailey (George Brent) meets a friendly older lady (Olive Blakeney). Mirror magazine's top photographer Katherine Grant (Claudette Colbert) is assigned to photograph the Interborough Vehicular River Tunnel project in New York City. Wearing a hardhat and boots, the beautiful photographer is taken underground to the construction site where she is not greeted warmly by the superstitious tunnel workers, called "sandhogs", who believe that women in the tunnel bring bad luck. When she sneaks closer to the drilling point to get a better view, her presence distracts some of the workers and causes an accident that nearly kills Jim Ryan (Fred MacMurray), the cocky well-built sandhog they call "Superman". When she sees the unconscious Ryan about to be crushed by a machine, she drags him to safety.
