T. M. Soundararajan is a Actor and Playback Singer Indian born on 24 march 1922
Thoguluva Meenatchi Iyengar Soundararajan (24 March 1922 – 25 May 2013), popularly known as TMS, was a playback singer in Kollywood for over six decades. He gave his voice to actors and thespians in the South Indian film industry such as M. G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, N. T. Rama Rao, Gemini Ganesan, S. S. Rajendran, Jaishankar, Rajkumar and A. Nageswara Rao. He has sung over 20,000 film songs from more than 5,000 films. He has sung over 3,000 devotional, classical songs. He had also given classical concerts since 1945. In a career spanning over 6 decades he has recorded film songs in eleven languages including, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and other Indian languages. He also composed music for several of the ever green devotional songs that was recorded.He was the music director for the film "Bala Parikshai". His peak period as a male playback singer in the South Indian film industry was from 1955 to 1985. Soundarajan died on 25 May 2013 at his residence in Mandaveli, Chennai due to illness. He was 91 years old at the time of his death.

Chellappa (Jayaram), an orphan, runs a photo studio in deficit with his friends (Chinni Jayanth and Vadivelu). Mary (Bhanupriya) comes to his village to learn singing to a guru (Kalyan Kumar) and she helps her guru's family in many ways. Kannan (Arjun Sarja), her guru's son, is supposed to be in the city. Sundaram (Nagesh), a poor man, comes to Madras with aspirations of becoming a film actor. However, he ends up getting a job in a restaurant called Greenlands Hotel as a waiter. While catering for a group of people who go on an excursion to Mahabalipuram, he meets Radha (K. R. Vijaya), the daughter of his restaurateur, Chakravarthy (Major Sundarrajan). He misinterprets her friendly nature as love and falls in love with her. In the meantime, Sundaram happens to meet his friend Raghavan (R. Muthuraman), an influential businessman, in the restaurant. During their subsequent meetings, Sundaram tells Raghavan about his ambition to become an actor as well as about his love for Radha, without mentioning her name. Raghavan genuinely believes that the girl reciprocates Sundaram's feelings and motivates Sundaram to express his love.

Anand (Sivaji Ganesan) is a rich playboy and who loves alcohol. He has an older brother, Vijay (K. Balaji). Anand, who has been abroad, boards a plane home, on a shift that air stewardess, Latha (Vanisri), is working. After the plane lands, the scene changes to Latha's home where we meet her father (Major Sundarrajan), mother (Pandari Bai), two brothers, and a sister. Her elder brother resides at home with his wife, but being the eldest, Latha is the highest earning member of the family. A struggle begins when Latha's mother objects to her being an air hostess: She begs her to change profession so that she can be home at more decent hours.
