Tapas Paul (born Tapas Paul on 29 September 1958) is a Bengali actor from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He is a Member of Parliament from Krishnanagar having won in the 2009 Indian General Elections on a Trinamool Congress ticket.

He is married to Nandini Paul. Nandini is a popular anchor of cookery shows on television. At present she is a participant of Bigg Boss Bangla. They have a daughter named Sohini Paul, who is also an actor in Tollywood.

Krish is the son of a rich man. Krish( has a love interest in Megha(Nusrat). Megha also loves Krish a.k.a Krishna. Their relationship goes fine until Megha meets Bhoomi (Subhasree) and they become best friends. Bhoomi tells her best friend Megha about his rowdy and tough cousin who her family wants her to get married to but she does not want to marry. Megha gets worried about her friend and tells the problem to her boyfriend, Krish. Megha makes Bhoomi meet Krish and tells Krish to act as if Krish is Bhoomi's boyfriend and let Bhoomi's family know that Bhoomi is in a relationship with Krish. Krish does not agree at first but later agrees to help out Bhoomi. In the meantime ,Bhoomi fall in love with Krish in reality. Krish also gets close to Bhoomi. Later, one day Krish gets to know that Megha and Bhoomi's fathers are step-brothers and they have a family rivalry between them from ages. Krish meets the two brother's grandfather (Haradhan Bandopadhyay) and gets to know why they have the rivalry and also gets to know that grandfather wants them to be together again. The grandfather gives the responsibility to Krish to get the two families together again and if he is successful he will get Megha or Bhoomi- whoever he is in love with hand in marriage. Krish falls in a big problem as he is not interested in all this family rivalry. But later he decides to get the family together. In the meantime, Megha gets the wrong idea that Krish and Bhoomi is cheating her and Krish is in love with Bhoomi and not her. Megha is devastated and she insults Bhoomi badly. Bhoomi in rage tells her that Krish is only hers and Megha will never be able to get her. Megha's rage increases on these words and she challenges Bhoomi that she will get Krish. Letr she also gets to know Bhoomi is her step;sister because of the two fathers.When Krish gets to know about all this , Krish gets totally confused on everything and fails to understand who he actually loves. Through all this misunderstanding , Krish manages to get the family together again. Atlast, when the two brothers get together both offers Krish to marry their daughters.The two brothers (Rajatava Dutta and Tapas Paul) assures Krish that he will get the hand of whoever he wants to marry. But Krish gets totally confused between Bhoomi and Megha. He runs to the temple of the village and asks Lord Krishna- who only spoke to Krish and Krish could hear him. Krish asks Lord Krishna for help when Lord Krishna comes out of his idol and gives Krish his divine flute and tells him to just go on and that he was in the same state as he was in. He was also confused between Meera and Radha and he did not marry anyone. Krish takes the flute and he does not come back to Bhoomi or Megha and leaves the village forever.

Anol (Naziur Rahman ) is a philanthropist who spends his time doing good deeds and helping out people. One day he comes across Ankhi, a spoilt urchin who thinks of money. From that moment they become inseparable and they always go together to all places. It seemed as if that Ankhi loved Anol, but actually, she didn't. On the other hand, Anol (Hamidur- the protagonist of the film) fell in love with her and later on, one day, Anol confessed his love for her. But, in reply, Ankhi said that she was just playing a game with him and that he was just like her bodyguard, whom she took everywhere with her for her own safety. However, Anol's love was able to change Ankhi's mindset. In the meantime, Ankhi's fiance, Jayanta (Arka) tries to kill Anol by employing goons and Anal is arrested on false charges. Afterwards, the charges were reversed when it was revealed that Jayanta was the culprit. The film ends as Jayanta is arrested and Ankhi goes back to Anol. Ankhi is helped by Anol who helps her get over her mistakes.

The film attempts to touch the nostalgia of childhood. The story of the film revolves around an urban couple Bimal and Meera and a broken window of Bimal's school's classroom. Bimal plans to visit his school where he spent many years of his childhood. When he visits the school, he finds the building in a very ill condition. He specially notices one broken window of a classroom corner where he used to sit daily and look outside through the window. Though Bimal has little money, he wants to donate something to school authority to repair that window. Since Bimal does not have sufficient money, he uses the money from his fiancée Meera's savings without informing her. When Bimal presents the window to the school authority, they reject it. Conditions get worse when Meera learns about it and she breaks relation with Bimal.

The film is revolving round Rupak Chowdhury (Tapas Paul) and his mentally retarded brother Joy (New comer JOY) along with their step brother Rohit and sister Rinki. They live with their step uncle Ahi mama (Manoj Mitra) and his wife, who conspire against them. Joy was given poisonous medicines since his childhood by Ahimama and his Dr. friend which has damaged his nervous system. Nobody loves Joy without Rupak & their servant Harikaka (Kharaj Mukherjee). For a change Rupak takes Joy to their village where they meet two sisters Mukul (Rachana Banerjee) and Bakul (Swastika Mukherjee). Incidentally Rupak marries Mukul but when they return to home, the bad-guies deny to accept her as Rupak’s wife and continuously blame her for their sudden misfortune. Mukul leaves home with Joy to cure him. After consulting a doctor she sends Joy to “Ananda Ashram” under the supervision of Maharaj (Sabyasachi Chakrabarty). On the other hand, Ahimama sends his friend’s daughter Kitty (Locket Chatterjee) to woo Rohit but when Kitty comes to know about their conspiracy they kill her. Slowly Rinki and Rohit understand that they are being misguided by their beloved uncle & aunt, but it’s too late. Ahimama kidnaps Rupak and Mukul- Bakul’s parents & kills Harikaka. So Mukkul Bakul and Joy come to rescue Rupak, fight bravely but Rupak and Rohit both die while fighting. Joy kills his Ahimama, takes his revenge, then goes to jail, writes his autobiography “Lakshyabhed” in jail and then comes out from jail to live happily ever after with his family.
