Two decades after the events at Jurassic Park, a new theme park, Jurassic World, now operates in Isla Nublar, off the Pacific coast of Central America. This new park is run by the Masrani Global Corporation, which also owns InGen, the genetics company that creates the dinosaurs. After defeating Owen Shaw and his crew and securing amnesty for their past crimes, Dominic "Dom" Toretto, Brian O'Conner, and the rest of their team have returned to the United States to live normal lives again. Brian begins to accustom himself to life as a father, while Dom tries to help Letty Ortiz regain her memories. Meanwhile, Owen's older brother, Deckard Shaw, breaks into the secure hospital the comatose Owen is being held in and swears vengeance against Dom, before breaking into Luke Hobbs' DSS office to extract profiles of Dom's crew. After revealing his identity, Shaw engages Hobbs in a fight, and escapes when he detonates a bomb that severely injures Hobbs. Dom later learns from his sister Mia that she is pregnant again and convinces her to tell Brian. However, a bomb, disguised in a package sent from Tokyo, explodes and destroys the Toretto house just seconds after Han, a member of their team, is killed by Shaw in Tokyo. Dom later visits Hobbs in a hospital, where he learns that Shaw is a rogue special forces assassin seeking to avenge his brother. Dom then travels to Tokyo to claim Han's body, where he meets and races Sean Boswell, a friend of Han's, who gives him personal items found at Han's crash site.

Eight years after Harvey Dent's (Aaron Eckhart) death, the Dent Act grants the Gotham City Police Department powers which nearly eradicate organized crime. Feeling guilty for covering up Dent's crimes, Police Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman) writes a resignation speech confessing the truth but decides not to use it. Batman has disappeared, and Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) has become a recluse. Cat burglar Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) obtains Bruce's fingerprints from his home, kidnaps a congressman, then disappears. Selina hands Bruce's fingerprints to Phillip Stryver (Burn Gorman), an assistant to Bruce's business rival John Daggett (Ben Mendelsohn), in hope of having her criminal record erased. Stryver double-crosses Selina, but she uses the congressman's stolen phone to alert the police to their location. Gordon and the police arrive to find the congressman, and then pursue Stryver's men into the sewers while Selina flees. A masked militant named Bane (Tom Hardy) captures Gordon. Gordon escapes and is found by John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a once-orphaned patrol officer who has deduced Batman's true identity from their similar backgrounds. Gordon promotes Blake to detective, with Blake reporting directly to him.

Crop blight has made growing food on Earth nearly impossible, threatening the existence of humanity. The planet Krypton faces imminent destruction due to its unstable core; the result of depleting Krypton's natural resources. The ruling council is deposed by the planet's military commander, General Zod, and his followers during a coup d'état. In 1954, a nuclear bomb is detonated at the moment a giant creature emerges from the ocean. In 1999, Project Monarch scientists Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham investigate a colossal skeleton unearthed in a collapsed mine in the Philippines. They find two spores; one dormant and one hatched that made a trail into the sea. In Japan, the Janjira Nuclear Power Plant experiences unusual seismic activity and Supervisor Joe Brody sends his wife Sandra and a team of technicians into the reactor. A tremor breaches the reactor, leaving Sandra and her team unable to escape while the plant collapses.

Stu is missing a tooth, their hotel suite is in disarray, a tiger is in their bathroom, a chicken in their living room, and a baby is in the closet, whom they name "Carlos". They find Doug's mattress impaled on a statue outside of their hotel and when they ask for their Mercedes, the valet delivers an LVPD police cruiser.

One year after the famed Battle of Thermopylae, Dilios, a hoplite in the Spartan Army, begins his story by depicting the life of Leonidas I from childhood to kingship via Spartan doctrine. Dilios's story continues and Persian messengers arrive at the gates of Sparta demanding "earth and water" as a token of submission to King Xerxes; the Spartans reply by killing and kicking the messengers into a well. Leonidas then visits the Ephors, proposing a strategy to drive back the numerically superior Persians through the Hot Gates; his plan involves building a wall in order to funnel the Persians into a narrow pass between the rocks and the sea. The Ephors consult the Oracle, who decrees that Sparta will not go to war during the Carneia. As Leonidas angrily departs, a messenger from Xerxes appears, rewarding the Ephors for their covert support.

L'histoire se déroule dans l'univers Pokémon. Tim Goodman est un jeune homme de 21 ans qui a abandonné le dressage de Pokémon suite au décès de sa mère et à l'absence de son père, Harry. Il voyage jusqu'à Ryme City, une métropole où humains et Pokémon vivent ensemble en harmonie, pour collecter les biens de Harry suite à son décès dans un accident de voiture. Dans l'appartement de Harry, Tim rencontre un Pikachu portant un deerstalker qui sait parler et que seul lui peut comprendre. Le duo échappe ensuite à l'attaque d'une bande de Capumain sous l'influence d'un gaz violacé « R » que Tim a accidentellement relâché pendant son inspection. Ils se réfugient dans un café où Pikachu apprend à Tim qu'il est détective et amnésique, mais qu'il était également le partenaire de Harry, et qu'ils étaient en train d'enquêter lorsque Harry a disparu. Ils cherchent alors Lucy Stevens, une jeune stagiaire désireuse de devenir reporter, que Tim avait déjà rencontrée. Elle emmène Pikachu et Tim vers un M. Mime, qu'ils interrogent avant d'être emmenés vers une arène illégale dirigée par un prénommé Sébastien et son pokémon Dracaufeu (qui est le champion de l'arène). Il demande une revanche contre Pikachu, qui avait précédemment battu son Dracaufeu. Cependant, Pikachu ne se souvient non plus de comment utiliser ses pouvoirs et Sébastien donne une dose du gaz R à Dracaufeu avant le combat, et Pikachu parvient à se sauver in extremis, avec l'aide de Tim. Sébastien libère alors le reste du gaz R dans le stade, ce qui provoque le chaos. Il dit à Tim qu'il a obtenu le gaz R grâce « à la doctoresse ».
