Il s'agit d'une adaptation du jeu vidéo Détective Pikachu (2016), œuvre dérivée de l'univers Pokémon créé par Satoshi Tajiri. Il s'agit aussi du premier film en prise de vues réelles de la franchise.
Le film raconte l'histoire de Tim Goodman, un jeune étudiant venant de rentrer à Ryme City et partant à la recherche de son père, disparu. Il est accompagné durant son périple par un Pikachu qu'il est le seul à pouvoir comprendre. Ils peuvent compter sur l'aide de Lucy Stevens, une apprentie journaliste accompagnée de son étrange Psykokwak.
Synopsis
L'histoire se déroule dans l'univers Pokémon. Tim Goodman est un jeune homme de 21 ans qui a abandonné le dressage de Pokémon suite au décès de sa mère et à l'absence de son père, Harry. Il voyage jusqu'à Ryme City, une métropole où humains et Pokémon vivent ensemble en harmonie, pour collecter les biens de Harry suite à son décès dans un accident de voiture. Dans l'appartement de Harry, Tim rencontre un Pikachu portant un deerstalker qui sait parler et que seul lui peut comprendre. Le duo échappe ensuite à l'attaque d'une bande de Capumain sous l'influence d'un gaz violacé « R » que Tim a accidentellement relâché pendant son inspection. Ils se réfugient dans un café où Pikachu apprend à Tim qu'il est détective et amnésique, mais qu'il était également le partenaire de Harry, et qu'ils étaient en train d'enquêter lorsque Harry a disparu. Ils cherchent alors Lucy Stevens, une jeune stagiaire désireuse de devenir reporter, que Tim avait déjà rencontrée. Elle emmène Pikachu et Tim vers un M. Mime, qu'ils interrogent avant d'être emmenés vers une arène illégale dirigée par un prénommé Sébastien et son pokémon Dracaufeu (qui est le champion de l'arène). Il demande une revanche contre Pikachu, qui avait précédemment battu son Dracaufeu. Cependant, Pikachu ne se souvient non plus de comment utiliser ses pouvoirs et Sébastien donne une dose du gaz R à Dracaufeu avant le combat, et Pikachu parvient à se sauver in extremis, avec l'aide de Tim. Sébastien libère alors le reste du gaz R dans le stade, ce qui provoque le chaos. Il dit à Tim qu'il a obtenu le gaz R grâce « à la doctoresse ».Actors

In 1795, Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Aden Young) creates a monster (Aaron Eckhart), a soulless creature patched together from corpses, and then rejects it, disgusted with what he's made. In a fit of rage, the creature kills Victor's wife Elizabeth (Virginie Le Brun) and Victor chases it to the Arctic to get revenge, but succumbs to the weather. The creature buries his creator in the Frankenstein family crypt and is then attacked by demons before being rescued by the gargoyles Ophir (Mahesh Jadu) and Keziah (Caitlin Stasey), who bring it before the gargoyle queen Leonore (Miranda Otto) and their commander Gideon (Jai Courtney). Leonore explains that they were created by the Archangel Michael to battle demons on Earth and protect humanity. They name the creature "Adam" and invite him to join them, but he declines and departs after being given heavy, baton-like weapons to protect him, as more demons will come after him. The weapons allow him to "descend" demons (destroying their bodies and trapping their souls in Hell) as they have the symbol of the Gargoyle Order carved on them.

Mario and Luigi are two Italian American plumbers living in Brooklyn, New York, who are currently being driven out of business by the mafia-like Scapelli Construction Company led by Anthony Scapelli. Later, Luigi falls in love with an orphaned NYU student named Daisy, who is digging under the Brooklyn Bridge for dinosaur bones. After a date, Daisy takes Luigi back to the bridge only to witness one of Scapelli's men sabotaging it by leaving the water pipes open. Unable to fix the flooding, Luigi and Daisy rush back to his apartment where they inform Mario about the incident. The trio returns to the flooding where the Mario Bros. manage to fix it but are knocked unconscious by Iggy and Spike, who proceed to capture Daisy.

Loosely based on the video game of the same name, the film centers on the character of Rayne, an unholy breed of human and vampire called a Dhampir. In the royal city of Nasaf, the king Sharaman rules the nation of Persia with the help of his brother Nizam. The king goes on to have two sons named Tus and Garsiv. One day in the marketplace, an orphan boy named Dastan protects his friend, Bis, from being executed by Persian soldiers. The king sees Dastan's bravery and adopts him, making him a prince of Persia. Years later, Dastan is a grown man and is still up to his rebellious ways. However, he remains faithful to the empire. When Nizam receives proof that the city of Alamut is supplying weapons to Persian enemies, he and Tus plan to attack with Garsiv leading the siege. Ignoring Tus’ command, Dastan and Bis breech Alamut on their own, and destroy most of the city. Meanwhile, the princess of Alamut, Tamina, orders her servant Asoka to take a special dagger out of the city and protect it at all costs. During the battle, Dastan and Asoka cross paths and fight; Dastan ultimately wins. He then finds the dagger and keeps it.
