Richard Cooper (Chris Rock) is a happily married and professionally successful man. He is perfectly content with his home life in suburban New York with his lovely wife Brenda (Gina Torres), a teacher, and his two young children. There is one problem in his marriage: their sex life has stagnated, leaving Richard frustrated and sex-starved. At one point, Brenda accuses Richard of being on the down-low. During those dull days at the office, he occasionally fantasizes about other women, but never acts upon his impulses.

Tara et Ved se rencontrent en Corse. Afin de rendre leur rencontre moins conventionnelle, ils décident de ne pas dévoiler leur identité. Quatre ans plus tard, ils se retrouvent mais la magie de leur première rencontre n'y est plus et Tara rejette Ved. Ce rejet conduira Ved à s'interroger sur lui-même et à réaliser son propre voyage intérieur afin de regagner le cœur de Tara.
Suresh Mukund (Varun Dhawan) wants to be a big dancer to fulfill his mother's wish. Vinnie (Shraddha Kapoor) wants to be the best hip-hop dancer. Childhood friends from suburban Nalasopara, Mumbai, they form a team and participate in a national level competition "Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin" where they are disqualified as their moves are copied and everyone calls them cheaters. Everyone departs to search for jobs. Suresh works in a bar as a waiter, Vinnie joins a beauty parlour and Vernon (Sushant Pujari) works as a delivery boy where, time and again, they are insulted as cheaters. The departure of angry teammates adds injury to insult, and nothing is set to be corrected.
