2 Harihar Nagar is a 2009 Malayalam film written and directed by Lal and produced by P. N. Venugopal. It is a sequel to In Harihar Nagar (1990) and prequel to In Ghost House Inn and John Honai. The films chronicle the story of four very close friends Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindan Kutty (Siddique), Appukuttan (Jagadish), and Thomas Kutty (Ashokan). The film is a blockbuster in the Kerala box office.

Synopsis

The movie starts with a flashback, in front of a church, in 1980 when the four main characters were children. This scene the beginning of their friendship. Thomas Philip (a.k.a. Thomas Kutty) loses money to a scam artist, who responds to his complaints with violence. He is rescued by the other three who respond to his calls of distress. They then invite Thomas Kutty to join their group who, above all, vow never to cheat on one another. The scene is transitioned by the quote "Thomas kutty Vittodaa!" (Thomas kutty, time to run!) once the scam artist brings his friends to return the beating he got.

Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindan Kutty (Siddique), Appukuttan (Jagadish) and Thomas Kutty (Ashokan) are four young men who live in the housing colony 'Harihar Nagar' in a city in Keralam. The movie starts with an incident which take place in Bombay, where a murder happens for a 'briefcase'. In the next scene the four are then shown, with their tricks to impress girls. A girl, "Maya" (Geetha Vijayan), along with her grandparents come as Mahadevan's new neighbours. The four try to impress her during which they find her posting a letter. They bribe the postman and manage to get that letter. Through the letter they come to know that Maya is in the town to know more about the murder of her brother - Sethu Madhavan (Suresh Gopi).

Anjooran (N. N. Pillai), and his four sons Balaraman (Thilakan), Swaminathan (Innocent), Premachandran (Bheeman Raghu) and Ramabhadran (Mukesh) are in severe enmity with the Anappara family. The story revolves around three unemployed people (the third is a middle age unsuccessful theater owner). The story opens with the arrival of Balakrishnan (Saikumar) in Cochin to dispute the denial of his company job which he was supposed to receive several years ago. Several candidates overtook his chance and the last one was Rani (Rekha) who pretends to be an influential figure in the town.
