Synopsis

Vivek (Prithviraj Sukumaran) takes a job as the manager of Saranalayam, a retirement house. He meets a young woman called Akhila (Navya Nair), who had sent her stepfather to jail for abusing her mentally ill mother, and they fall in love. Saranalayalam is financially in a bad state and the owner wants to sell it off, but Vivek tries his best to save the retirement house, since the residents have nowhere else to go.

Balamani (Navya Nair) is a young orphaned girl and housemaid, she is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. Balamani takes care of Unni Amma (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) who lives in the ancestral house. The next day, her aunt GracLena calls Vijay to tell that Merin has not reached her home yet. Grac's husband ThamikuttySunil, tells them that he will go to India to enquire about Merin but Vijay says that he will go because he is the one who is supposed to go. Pavitra's dad try to force him to stay, but Vijay says that he really likes Merin and he will go to India, no matter what. Pavitra helps him to go to India by convincing her dad to not stop him and personally drops him to the airport. Vijay reaches India. While in a taxi, Francis calls Vijay and directs him to go to Merin's home. Vijay reaches Merin's home to find her house being seized to debt. He finds out that Merin has reached home safely. The movie ends by Vijay reavealing to Pavitra that Merin had reached home safely, but lied to make Vijay realize his love for her.

The film opens with a flashback showing the family feud between families of Sathyaprathapan (Mammootty) and Bhavani (Indraja). Sathyaprathapan's sister and Bhavani's cousin are in love. The murder of Bhavani's cousin Vishnu, is wrongly accused on Balagangadharan (Lalu Alex), father of Sathyaprathapan. Sathyaprathapan's sisters commits suicide and Sathyaprathapan turns against his father. He starts to help Bhavani's family and mortgages his own house to finance her factory. A love develops between Sathyaprathapan and Bhavani. But Bhavani's greedy father wants to destroy Sathyaprathapan's family and tries to take their home. That is when Parameshwara Maman shows up, Sathyaprathapan's mom requests Maman to prove Balagangadharan's innocence. Parameshwara Mama and Sathyaprathapan finds Kuruvilla who witnessed the murder being committed by Bhavani's father goons. Meanwhile we see that Sathyaprathapan's mom faints and dies in the hospital. While in the hospital, his mom tells how Balagangadharan had a different wife and he should ask them forgiveness. He storms into Bhavani's house and accuses her dad, also trying to make her understand the truth but she doesn't believe him and stands by her father. Then Sathyaprathapan says he doesn't love her any more and vows that he will never trust a woman by remaining a chronic bachelor forever.
