Saritha is a South Indian actress. She has acted in more than 140 films in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu languages. She has also acted in a television serial, Selvi, in 2005.

Biography

Saritha's younger sister Viji Chandrasekhar is also an actress.

Saritha was married to Telugu actor Venkata Subbaih at Tirupathi on 13 December 1975 when she was hardly sixteen years old; they lived together for only six months till 1976 and divorced.
She married Malayalam actor Mukesh on 2 September 1988 and has two sons Shravan & Tejas. Shravan is pursuing M.B.B.S in Ras Al Khaimah University,UAE and Tejas is pursuing his undergraduate degree from Victoria University of Wellington New Zealand. In March 2007, the couple filed for divorce and it was withdrawn in 2011 by Saritha. Saritha is now staying with her 2 sons in a separate house.

The film unfolds in fictional space, in a Dalit settlement called Meppara. It explores the life of a group of displaced Dalits in the Western Ghats of India and probes the new identity politics based on Ambedkarism, gaining momentum among the Dalits in the region, in the milieu of an ongoing land struggle. A band of displaced untouchables in Western Ghats of India embrace Buddhism in order to escape from caste oppression. The on-screen happenings are from the perspective of a youth Sankaran, a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) dropout, whose insecurity and reticence are in stark contrast to the deep-rooted faith and conviction of his father Kandal Kariyan.

June R (Jyotika), an orphan, was born in the month of June, for which she was named. She works in an advertising agency. One day she happens to come across a middle-aged woman (Saritha) hurt badly in an accident. She admits her in hospital and tells the doctor that it is her mother Rajalakshmi in order to save her life from the regular hierarchical rules of the hospital. Coming to Rajalakshmi (named by June) who happens to be Mrs. Raniammal, a widowed woman who strives to bring up her only son Arun (Biju menon) whereas Arun smitten by his wife's words for the wealth and money of his mother, plans to send her away from his home to an orphanage in order to settle with his wife in New York City. Deeply hurt, Raniammal finds solace in June's company, who also longs for a motherly love since childhood. June decides to take Rajalakshmi to her house and calls her mom. Both together (June and Rajalakshmi) cherish life who once were starved for love. later her son comes back again to take his mother back, Rajalakshmi realising her sons evil thoughts refuses to get back to him. later on Rajalakshmi's refusal he visits June and quarrels with her to give back his mother, June baffles with his sudden love for his mother. this implies an emotional entangle between the both meanwhile Rajalakshmi falls sick and June on seeing Raniammal's pathetic condition brings her brother (Ravikumar) whom she wanted to meet before she dies. On visiting Rajalakshmi's home town she unveils the mystery behind his sudden love for his mother. now entrant Amudha (Kushboo) a noted and leading lawyer aids June to get back her new mother legally, prostrating Arun's wicked thoughts in the law of court . at last the judgement favours June though June succeeds in her mission of getting back her mother, but fate has some storm in its store, June finds Rajalakshmi dead when she comes back. Now comes Raja (actor Suriya who plays a cameo ), a rich client of June's advertising agency falls in love with her who consoles her on this uncompensable loss and takes her along with him, just the way her mother Rajalakshmi wished.

Arjun (Mahesh Babu) and his twin sister Meenakshi (Keerthi Reddy) finish college. Julie Ganapathi (Saritha) is a staunch fan of a popular television show, Manga. Over the years, Julie grows to identify herself obsessively with the main character of the show. The author of the series, Tenkasi Balakumaran (Jayaram), leaves his home for a few days to be alone to write the last few episodes of Manga. Prabhu, the chairman of Chennai's Government Arts College, is asked by his Principal to invite the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Kakarlal Sathyanarayana Moorthy, to be the chief guest on the annual day of the college. When he goes to invite Kakarlal, he bumps into his daughter, Shruthi, instantly falling in love with her. To propose his love for her, he even joins in the same dance class as her. She too subsequently gets to know more about him and falls in love with him. Since there is considerable fear of terrorism in the state, Kakarlal does not permit his daughter to travel anywhere without bodyguards. On one occasion, she manages to give them the slip and runs away with Prabhu at a dance festival. Shortly after, there is the threat of a bomb being planted. Shruthi is immediately brought home and Prabhu is arrested. Shruthi is forbidden to see Prabhu. After being beaten severely, Prabhu is released from police custody and taken back home, tended by his police father Kathiresan. He then goes to meet Shruthi unaware of the changed circumstances. This is where he finds evidence that will lead him to a hideout of bomb specialist Mallikarjuna who is the mastermind of all the bomb blasts. Prabhu realizes that Mallikarjuna has been working for Kakarlal to kill innocent civilians with bombs. Kakarlal pays Mallikarjuna to put a bomb in Government General Hospital. Kakarlal betrays Mallikarjuna by killing him with a (bomb radio). Unfortunately, Mallikarjuna survives but he's wounded. Mallikarjuna changes the time, so the bomb can explode earlier. When Kakarlal shows up, he realizes that Mallikarjuna's still alive but Mallikarjuna disappears again. Prabhu and other people take the patients out of the Government General Hospital. Kakarlal, Kakarlal's wife, and Shruthi get stuck in an elevator. Prabhu finds the bomb and manages to get out of the hospital as soon as possible, so he can throw the bomb off the bridge into the water. The bomb explodes in the water. After Shruthi gets out of the elevator, a wounded Mallikarjuna breaks from the top and electrocutes Kakarlal to death. Mallikarjuna also dies because of blood loss. The film ends with the reunion of Prabhu and Shruthi. It's presumed that Prabhu and Shruthi got married.

Vishnu (Mammootty)is a rich business man, happily married to innocent Seetha (Saritha). Vishnu is a flirt and always interested in having affairs with multiple partners. However most of his plans did always become unsuccessful. He pretends to love Ragini(Shyama) and assures her to marry her. But his intentions are different. He starts having affair with a young and beautiful Revathi (Lizy Priyadarshan). He also gets infatuated by the newly appointed steno Rose Mary (Urvashi) at his office. But every time, he fails to reach his target. He is so lascivious and a womanizer who even gets attracted to a teenage girl (Suma Jayaram). The situation gets worsened after he joins team with Thomas Chacko (Thilakan) and Murali. Murali introduces Vishnu to a new girl Indhu (Maathu) who is an orphan. Indu is childlike and innocent and she blindly believes Murali. She went off with Vishnu to his house. Vishnu, eagerly waiting for a sexual intercourse, gets distracted and disappointed by Indhu's genuine nature. The Climax is reached when Vishnu's mother (Sukumari), Malathi and her father arrive at Vishnu's bungalow. Vishnu manages to make his family believe that Indhu is his illegitimate daughter. But he had to face the dangerous consequences that awaited him. Vishnu's family accepted Indhu as his daughter and took her to the ancestral home. Vishnu is completely bewildered and disappointed as he needs to return Indhu to Murali. Vishnu changes his mind and determines not to give Indhu back to them. The rest of the story deals with the complex situations.
