Andipatti Arasampatti is a 2002 Tamil comedy film directed by Dananjaya. The film features Pandiarajan and Mansoor Ali Khan in lead roles. The film, produced by S. Thamizh Raja, had musical score by Rock Rownder and was released on 4 November 2002. The film is loosely based on the 1989 American film See No Evil, Hear No Evil and was later remade in Hindi as Pyare Mohan.

Synopsis

Andipatti (Pandiarajan), a blind man, and Arasampatti (Mansoor Ali Khan), a deaf man, are new friends.Their misadventures as they get caught in a smuggling operation and a murder. Chased by a bungling police duo, and hounded by the anti-social elements who believe the heroes have their priceless Anthrax with which they had planned to destroy the state's population, it is about how Andipatti and Arasampatti extricate themselves from the situation they had inadvertently landed themselves in.

The film is a story of romance that centers around two lovers: Devaa (Vijay) and Bharadhi (Swathi). The two are deep in love but encounter opposition from Bharadhi's father (Sivakumar), the head of the village. Sivakumar believes that his daughter's suitor is not a suitable one, due to his perceived reputation throughout the village. Although the son of the well to do Manorama, it comes to light that Sivakumar's disapproval stems from his relationship with his brother, who is seemingly apathetic and lackadaisical. The film ends happily with Sivakumar recognizing that his now son-in-law is in actuality a really upstanding citizen in the village. The two young lovers overcome all problems and live their lives happily married.

Vijay (R. Sarathkumar) and Seetha (Ragapriya) are siblings. After their mother's death, Vijay worked hard to come up in life. He brought up his sister alone. The movies portrays social conditions like dowry, one sided fidelity of woman, honor, illiteracy and other aspects of social life. Mangalam (Sulakshana) is the only daughter of the village elder (Senthamarai) who lives happily and hopes to get married soon. Senthamarai invites Bhagyaraj's family (Father and Step-mother) to come see Mangalam. Mangalam's family loves Bhagyaraj, and Bhagyaraj feels the same about Mangalam. Bhagyaraj's family promise to send their reply later. In the meantime, Bhagyaraj courts Mangalam (though initially shy), and meets Nambiar (Mangalam's uncle). All is well and a date is set to discuss the marriage proposal. During the discussion, Bhagyaraj's step-mother asks for more dowry than Senthamarai can provide and the marriage proposal stops. Senthamarai also opposes the marriage after the talks fall through. Mangalam and bhagraraj attempt to elope fails, and Mangalam is caught by her father who attempts suicide. Bhagyaraj comes to mangalams village to woe her family to give her hand in marriage. Does bhagyaraj succeed in this forms rest of the story.

Marumalarchi is about Mammooty is the centre figure of 38 patti the man of honour who has dedicated his life for the welfare of the village people. He is so respected that the people even erect his statue. In the crowded fair (sandhai) Mammooty pulls Devayani's hand to save her from an approaching cobra. Unfortunately nobody but the hero and his car driver seems to have noticed the cobra. Devayani makes a big fuss of the event by assuming Mammooty to be a rogue. The local big boys (Ranjith and Mansoor), who are also in similar status as Mammooty in their village, beat him up in public without taking notice of his defense. On the whole the movie portrays how mammootty over come on this problems.
