Ayul Kaithi is a 1991 Tamil drama film, directed by K. Subhash, starring Prabhu and Revathi in lead roles. The film, produced by A. N. Ramasamy, had musical score by Sankar Ganesh, and was released on 29 June 1991.
Synopsis
Chandrasekhar (Prabhu), a prisoner condemned to the life imprisonment, escapes from the jail to probably kill his ex-girlfriend Nithiya (Revathi). Sudharshan (Livingston), a police officer, tries to catch him.Actors

Lakshmipathi (Prabhu) is a carefree youth who searches a job. His hot sister Kasthuri (Sumithra) sends him a letter from the city to rejoin her and the villagers compel him to leave the village, he leaves the village to rejoin his sister. His brother-in-law (Goundamani) finds a job as watchman for him. There, Dhanalakshmi (Revathi), his sister's young daughter, and him fall in love with each other. Kasthuri decides to meet some astrologers and they say that if Lakshmipathi marries Dhanalakshmi, he will certainly die. Kasthuri evicts him from her house and Sivaraman (Janagaraj), who is also in love with Dhanalakshmi, accommodates him without knowing his identity. Kasthuri convinces her daughter to forget him and later, Dhanalakshmi criticizes Lakshmipathi that he was not a well-educated. Sivaraman promises Dhanalakshmi that he will get them together. Meanwhile, Lakshmipathi returns to his village. Dhanalakshmi sends a letter, mentioning that she will marry another man. Lakshmipathi stops her marriage, convinces his sister and marry her but she dies immediately because she had taken poison by then.

Balu (Prabhu) is an eligible bachelor, looking for a wife. With a picture perfect woman in mind, he insults and rejects many women. Meanwhile, Chitra (Radhika) is looking for a way to reconcile her sister Geetha's marriage with her husband. Geetha has been sent to her parent's home for no fault of hers. Chitra figures that the most appropriate way to settle scores with her sister's in-laws, is by marrying Balu, as Geetha is married to Balu's brother. She disguises herself as a village belle, Rajathi and enters Balu's life. After marriage, Balu is traumatised by her ignorance, but Rajathi (Chitra) falls in love with him. Chitra decides to unveil her mask now, but will her plan succeed or boomerang.

Prabhu, hailing from an orthodox Brahmin community gets a job with Calcutta Constructions as supervisor. Calcutta Company has been in efforts to restructure their land by vacating an illegal colony lying adjacent to its premises. Popularly known as Vietnam Colony, it is inhabited by mainly daily labourers. The company has been in efforts to demolish the colony for long time, but failed to do so. The colony is now under the rule a few hardcore criminals to whom the residents have to pay specific amount every week. Now, Prabhu is appointed by company to evacuate the colony, by dealing with these criminals. He is assisted by Goundamani. Both arrive in the colony under the disguise of professional writers who are planning to write a story on the life of colony residents. Upon arrival, both enter the house of Manorama in search of a house, but she mistakes them to have come to see her daughter Vineetha and calls Unni to bring tea and snacks. But after knowing about the goof happened, she lets them stay on the top floor of her house. Upon the advice of the House broker, Manorama believes that with time, her daughter might fall in love with Prabhu and might get married to this educated Brahmin guy. In the coming days, Prabhu befriends with various members of the colony and tries to read out their idea about vacating the colony. But he realizes that it is not an easy task to evacuate the people and thinks about different plans to be operated. From Manorama, Prabhu comes to know that the entire colony was owned by Nassar, a millionaire, who even gave up his mom for money. What happens next is rest of story.

Arun (Mohan), a prominent singer is in jail with a death sentence looming over his head. He meets Shanthi (Revathi) during one of his concerts, and is followed by her on many occasions into the jail and outside too. He shows nothing but animosity towards her behavior, and keeps pushing her out of sight. But Shanthi is persistent and does not give up either. An inmate named Maari attempts to escape from jail, but he is stopped by Arun. Maari later tells Arun about his sick daughter (Shekhina Shawn), and his inability to pay for her operation. Arun sympathises with him, and promises to raise funds for the sick child through his next concert, which he also plans shall be his final one.

Muthukaalai (Murali), an angry young man, returns to his village after studying in the city. Ambalam (R. P. Viswam) is a respected panchayat headman, since his brother got married with another caste woman, he hates their family. Poochandu (Saradha Preetha), Ambalam's niece, falls in love with Muthukaalai. In the meantime, Muthukaalai's cousin Marikolunthu (Revathi) who is crazy about Muthukaalai comes from her village to marry him. One day, the storm devastates the entire village, destroying the poor villagers' house. The villagers begg Ambalam to let them in the temple until the storm calms down but Ambalam refuses point blank. Poochandu's mother breaks the temple's padlock to save the villagers. The next day, at the village panchayat, Ambalam condemn Poochandu's mother to tonsure and Poochandu to become a Devadasi. In anger against this dictatorship, Muthukaalai ridicules Ambalam and he get married with Poochandu. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.
