Blood and Black Lace (Italian: Sei donne per l'assassino; also known as Six Women for the Murderer) is a 1964 Italian thriller film directed by Mario Bava. Bava co-wrote the screenplay with Giuseppe Barilla and Marcello Fondato. The film stars Cameron Mitchell and Eva Bartok. The story concerns the stalking and brutal murders of various scantily-clad fashion models, committed by a masked killer in a desperate attempt to obtain a scandal-revealing diary.
The film is generally considered one of the earliest and most influential of all giallo films and served as a stylistic template for the "body count" slasher films of the 1980s. Tim Lucas has noted that the film has "gone on to inspire legions of contemporary filmmakers, from Dario Argento to Martin Scorsese to Quentin Tarantino." In 2004, one of its sequences was voted No. 85 in "The 100 Scariest Movie Moments" by the Bravo TV network.
Synopsis
Isabella (Francesca Ungaro), one of many beautiful models employed at a fashion house, is walking through the grounds that lead to the establishment one night when she is attacked and violently killed by an assailant wearing a white featureless mask. Police Inspector Sylvester (Thomas Reiner) is assigned to investigate the murder and he interviews Max Marian (Mitchell), the manager who co-manages the salon with his lover, the recently widowed Countess Cristina Como (Bartok). Max attests that he can not provide any information whatsoever that can assist the inspector, but as the investigation continues all of the fashion house's various sins, including corruption, abortions, blackmail and drug addiction, begin to come to light. It is revealed that Isabella had kept a diary detailing these vices, and suddenly almost every employee becomes nervous.Actors

The film is about a series of murders committed by a sexually charismatic but impotent man who owns a bridal shop. Alienated from his wife because of his failure to consummate the marriage, he kills women dressed in his bridal gowns. He disposes of the bodies in an incinerator. The police suspect him, but have no evidence. After he eventually kills his wife, her ghost appears and informs him that she will never leave his side - and will be visible to everyone but him. At a nightclub he tries to pick up a woman, but she rejects him when she sees his wife's ghost by his side.

At night in her bayside mansion, wheelchair-bound Countess Federica (Isa Miranda) is attacked and strangled to death by her husband Filippo Donati (Giovanni Nuvoletti). In turn, an assailant suddenly stabs him to death. Donati's corpse is then dragged to the bay. The police find what they believe to be a suicide note written by the Countess. One of the more prominent works of Italy's premier horror stylist Mario Bava, this occult murder mystery interweaves elements of the traditional giallo thriller formula with an unusual Gothic ghost story. In a turn-of-the-century Carpathian village a series of murders are occurring in which the victims are found with silver coins embedded in their hearts. The coins are revealed to be talismans placed on the victims by the town witch (Fabienne Dali), meant to ward off the supernatural powers of the aged Baroness Graps (Giana Vivaldi). A man dressed in black drives through Los Angeles, and flashes back to a girl dying in a car accident. The man arrives at an apartment complex, and kills a female tenant (who recognizes him) with a drill. Afterward, the man dons a ski mask, and murders two other women, the first with a hammer, and the second with a screwdriver. The police are called, and they interview the people who found the bodies, as well as Vance Kingsley, the owner of the building. The next night, the killer strikes again, breaking into the apartment of a woman who is masturbating in her bathtub, and shooting her in the stomach and head with a nail gun. The murderer then abducts Laurie Ballard, a fifteen-year-old who lives in the above apartment with her family.

Une compétition de bateaux, disputée par les partenaires Marco et Burt, tourne mal lorsque la mécanique de l'un des navires s'enraye. Les deux hommes se jettent à l'eau mais Marco est gravement blessé. Grâce à une intervention chirurgicale au cerveau, autorisée par Burt et leur amie Terry, Marco se réveille mais il est désormais amnésique. Après l’opération, il revient chez lui où sa femme Monica, son ami Tommy et Terry s’occupent de lui. Mais l'atmosphère s'avère être pesante et oppressante. Marco se met à sentir des non-dits, comme si, avant l'accident, certaines choses avaient été laissées en suspens. Bientôt, il soupçonne même une présence. D'autres images défilent : des souvenirs qui ressurgissent jusqu'au tourment, d'autant que Monica se refuse sexuellement à Marco, ajoutant ainsi à sa confusion. Non loin de la demeure, le jardinier lui annonce anonymement qu'un complot se trame contre lui et qu'il souhaite en parler avec lui. Mais il est aussitôt assassiné à coups de couteau... Puis le commissaire annonce à Marco qu'il a été victime d'un sabotage lors de la course. Paranoïaque, découvre que son épouse Monica n'est pas étrangère à cette machination.
