Add to a movie listBusinessman, also known as The Businessman, is a 2012 Indian Telugu crime film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. Based on a concept by Ram Gopal Varma and produced by R. R. Venkat under the banner R. R. Movie Makers, the film features Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles, with Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Raza Murad and Brahmaji in supporting roles.
Mahesh plays Vijay Surya, a ruthless man who comes to Mumbai from South India aspiring to become a mafia don. Surya arrives just as the Mumbai police declare the end of the "Mafia Raj" and begins his journey by helping a local politician and trapping the city commissioner's daughter, only to fall in love with her. He eventually emerges as the biggest mafia leader of Mumbai and kills a national politician Jai Dev in retribution for cheating and murdering his parents.
S. Thaman composed the film's music and Shyam K. Naidu was the film's cinematographer. The film was made with a budget of ₹400 million and was launched formally on 15 August 2011 at Hyderabad. Principal photography began on 2 September 2011 and was shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Goa. A few song sequences were shot in Bangkok. Filming ended on 10 December 2011 in 74 working days, one of the shortest periods in which a Telugu film has been shot.
Released during Sankranthi on 13 January 2012, the film received mixed feedback from critics, but was commercially successful. It grossed more than ₹550 million and collected a distributor share of ₹448 million, eventually becoming one of the highest grossing Telugu films of 2012. The film was dubbed into Tamil and Malayalam with the same title in the same year and was remade into Bengali as Boss: Born to Rule in 2013.
Synopsis
Mumbai Police commissioner Ajay Bhardwaj announces the end of the "Mafia Raj" in the city, in order to try to bring peace to the city's streets. However, a ruthless south Indian named Vijay Surya comes to the city, aspiring to be the most powerful Mafia Don there. Staying in Dharavi with his friend, he is introduced to a local politician Laalu, who is in trouble and offers him help. He recruits a portion of the gangsters and criminals living in Mumbai led by Naseer to work under him. Surya's henchman Shakeel manages to kill a witness of Laalu's crimes in the jail where he is kept in, winning Laalu's friendship.Actors

In Hyderabad, two rival mafia gangs headed by Dubai-based don Ali Bhai, and Narayana resort to criminal activities such as extortion, murder, and coercion for various reasons. Daya is an orphan who grows up learning that a police's life is a happy one with lots of money coming in the form of bribes which inspires him to become a police officer. After years, he becomes a corrupt, cunning, manipulative and ruthless sub inspector of police. He is transferred to Vishakhapatnam where he forms an immediate friendship with the local don Waltair Vasu by releasing his four brothers Ravi, Mani, Varun and Sundeep from the jail who were arrested for smuggling. A handicapped Krishna (Suriya) arrives at Mumbai. He, along with a taxi driver (Soori) travel along Mumbai to look for his brother. He then meets a close friend of Raju and tells Krishna that Raju is Raju Bhai (Suriya). He then meets JK and he tells his experience with Raju Bhai and tells him that Raju could have killed him but spared JK. Krishna finally meets Karim Bhai (Joe Malloori) and he tells Krishna that Raju and Chandru (Vidyut Jamwal) were inseparable friends and were growing dons as they emerging in the underworld their enemies too grows. Then a new Commissioner plans to clean the city and kills a few people of Raju's gang. Raju then retaliates this by kidnapping the Commissioner's daughter Jeeva (Samantha) and keeps her as a hostage for a day and when Raju goes to leave her back she tells that she actually doesn't want to go and doesn't want to marry because she didn't love anyone. Both of them then develop love. Things go well until Raju and Chandru invoke the wrath of Imran Bhai (Manoj Bajpai) who is a bigger and more powerful don than them and Chandru keeps chanting what Imran says to him that Imran would 'shoot them like pigs'. Raju then gives Chandru a surprise by capturing Imran. Chandru becomes thrilled about it and gives Raju a surprise by getting him a new car. Raju then meets Jeeva inside. Chandru tells him that he had given Raju a surprise and tells him to stay away for seven days with Jeeva. Raju and Jeeva have a blast. When Raju comes back he sees Chandru murdered in a ghastly manner. A frustrated Raju goes in search of the killers is also shot by his own man, Amar. Krishna then becomes worried. At that very time Amar gets to know that Krishna was looking for him and tries to kill Krishna. Then it is revealed that Krishna is Raju. Raju then fights them and kills Amar. He then goes to find Jackie in a horse race. Jackie tells him to ask Johny. Raju then finds Johny in a shopping mall and Johny tells him that they along with Imran had plotted to kill Chandru when Raju was away. A disappointed Raju kills Johny. Raju then kills one more betrayer in a fight and shoots him. Then Imran's men kidnap Karim Bhai's daughter. When Raju gets there Karim tells him it wasn't his daughter, it was Jeeva. Raju finally battles them and at last kills Imran Bhai. Raju, after rescuing Jeeva, reunites with her and happily leave Mumbai.

Vijaykant (Gopichand) is an orphan who dreams of becoming a police officer from childhood. Working in a cafe belonging to Babai M S Narayana in mornings, Gangaram attends night school to achieve his dream and within no time Gangaram becomes a Police officer. Young, dynamic and sincere Gangaram targets the Underworld Mafia and their activities in the city. Within three days of his appointment, Gangaram is elevated to an Encounter Specialist by DIG Bharath Nandan (Nassar).Gangaram and his team of four cops start their hunt for two Underworld gangs, first Talwar gang operating within the city and second Khalid (Kelly Dorjee) gang operating from Malaysia. First Gangaram cleans up Talwar gang and plans to travel Kenya where Khalid is on a one-day private trip. When Gangaram is getting ready for Kenya, Police raid the house and prove his illegal contacts with Mafia. Gangaram finds it very soon that he was trapped in the plan of Khalid and DIG Bharathnandan who used him as a tool to clean their Mafia opponent, Talwar.In an interview by the Telugu new channel 9, Gangaram starts cry that his own department framed him and states that he will become a gangster and kill everyone who was involved in framing him including the DIG and ACP. An adamant Gangaram escapes from the police and re-establishes himself as Gangu Bhai, the Mafia Don. Pavitra, the love interest of Gangaram finds out her mother was killed by the DIG. In a friendly encounter, he kills the DIG and goes to Malaysia where he meets Khalid. After he gets there he gets beat up by Khalid but he escapes and in a wild chase, Gangaram and Khalid battle on a helicopter rooftop and Gangaram kills Khalid and puts 10 bullets in him. The movie ends when Audience finds out that Gangaram has been set up by the DGP (Prakash Raj) for eliminating all the gangsters. He then asks the DGP to remove all the cases against him so that he can come back and join the Police force again, but the DGP says it's not that easy as he had killed police officers too. Instead, he tells him to start and run a mafia gang in Malaysia and operate there so that He can be of a relief that Mafia Gang is under Police itself. Gangaram then calls his gang and Pavitra to come to Malaysia and gets settled there.

A police officer in the special branch, Bhaskar Chenmai alias Bachi (Jagapathi Babu) one day receives a boy Habibi (Master Teja) in a courier from Dubai. Claiming that his mother had told him that Jagapati Babu is his father, the boy starts addressing him father. The uncomfortable Bachi tries various methods to get rid of the boy, but his ways serve only to get him drawn towards the boy and become friends ultimately. Meanwhile, Bachi falls in love with Venkata Lakshmi (Neelambari) who gets annoyed at seeing the boy in Bachi's house. The former manages to convince the fuming Venkata Lakshmi that the boy is not his son and so the matter ends there although it crops up now and then in their discussions. Meanwhile, Bachi is the chief security officer for Tatineni Koteswara Rao (Prakash Raj), the Rs 50-crore winner of the Paris lottery. But Bachi's search for the boy continues and he manages to nail the father by his name, Bachi (Prthuvi Raj) and arrests him.

Chanti (Ravi Teja) is the son of a head constable (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Chanti is a guy with carefree attitude.
