It has played uncut in restored Technicolor on the original incarnation of the American Movie Classics channel in the 1990s.
The cinematography was by Lionel Lindon.
Synopsis
In 1728, Dick Lindsay is taken prisoner by Captain Barclay and incarcerated aboard the Black Panther, his pirate ship. Also on board against his will is Robert MacAllister, nephew of Barclay's arch-nemesis, Andrew MacAllister.Actors

In London in 1813, a Swiss father, William Robinson (Thomas Mitchell), wishes to escape the influence of the superficial profligacy of London on his family. Captain Jeff Dakin (George Montgomery) is shot down over Germany on a bombing raid as he sees his brother, Danny (Richard Graham) serving on the same aircraft, shot dead as he parachutes out of the stricken aircraft. Imprisoned in a camp, Dakin conspires with Alexandra "Alec" Zorich (Annabella), a beautiful Russian doctor, and Captain Paul Husnik (Kent Taylor), a Czech resistance leader, to mount an escape. Rosalind Dee (DeCarlo) is a cafe singer striving to enter high society. Rosalind stumbles upon a large amount of money by lucky means. Lieutenant Raymond "Ray" Dower (Ralph Bellamy) commands a United States Coast Guard rescue ship.
