Synopsis
Kakonissi. The son of Pontikaki, Manouelis, had grown up in which he became more beautiful. All the ladies from the village knew that were much from all the singing women, Paraskevoula. Manouelis fell in love with Smaragditsa. His father tried to bring himself a shame, brought his aunt Eirinaki which she live in the mountains along with their friends. As her aunt seduced from her beauty and that she wanted to love. Manouelis left from the mountains and headed for Ladochori at the time they had a funeral. The president of the village wrote from his voice that received and knew the spot that the singer and headed to the house in which live their six ladies.Actors

Durant la guerre civile grecque, à Athènes, un quartier populaire est déchiré en deux camps opposés. Cependant, en Allemagne, Hitler a repris le pouvoir et s'est lancé dans une nouvelle conquête de l'Europe. La Grèce est à nouveau occupée. Le retour des Allemands ressoude le quartier contre l'ennemi commun. Un groupe de (nouveaux) résistants finit par se réfugier dans un asile d'aliénés. Pour échapper aux nazis, ils se font passer pour fous. Mais leur subterfuge est découvert. Ils sont arrêtés et vont être fusillés. C'est alors que Théodore, un des habitants du quartier, se réveille. Ce n'était qu'un rêve né de son désespoir des oppositions.

Petros est le fils d'un riche entrepreneur. Il s'intéresse peu à l'entreprise familiale, préférant la course automobile. Cependant, il apprend qu'une île va se lancer dans le développement touristique. Il convainc son père d'acheter des terrains sur l'île. Pendant ce temps, Flora, qui possède des night-clubs, entend elle aussi parler du projet. Elle décide elle aussi d'investir sur l'île. Elle y arrive en même temps que Petros. Rapidement, leur rivalité perturbe la vie de l'île. D'autant plus que des insulaires tombent amoureux des continentaux. Marina, propriétaire d'une taverne, s'éprend de Petros tandis que le pêcheur Nikolas s'intéresse à Flora, au grand dam de sa fiancée. Pour se venger, cette dernière se laisse séduire par Iasonas, le fils de la plus grande propriétaire de l'île qui s'inquiète de la tournure des événements. Finalement, l'amour triomphe.

Rumous have it that a Swiss company is making investment plans to develop a Greek island. A couple of Athenian enterpreneurs rush to the island to buy land and flip it for profit. The Athenian couple, a race-car driver and an actress, meet the resistance of the island's grand old lady who does not wish to sell land to outsiders. The business plans eventually fail to materialise but romance ensues between the actress and the son of the lady as well as the race-car driver and a local girl. The film has references to ancient Greek tragedy and contains elements from it such as a chorus.

Alexandre (Giulio Brogi), metteur en scène, est à la recherche d'un vieil acteur. Il le trouve chez un vendeur de légumes. Le film peut commencer. Alexandre accueille son père Spyros (Manos Katrakis), ancien résistant, de retour d'URSS après trente-deux années d'exil forcé. L'amnistie a en effet été prononcée après la chute de la dictature des colonels en 1974. Spyros retrouve sa femme, Katerina (Dora Volanaki). Puis il retrouve son village, sa maison et quelques anciens camarades. Mais Spyros a beaucoup de mal à comprendre le temps écoulé. L'idée-même du retour qu'il a chérie durant 32 ans est devenue intangible. Seule son épouse semble le comprendre.

Lia (Rena Vlachopoulou) is married to retired general Solon Karaleon (Dionisis Papagiannopoulos), who is now chairman of a public organization responsible for military supplies. Her brother Antonis ([Antreas Duzos]]) is working in the organization and has made many embezzlements there along with other employees. To justify the luxurious life of her brother, Lia and Antonis pretend that he is financially supported by a wealthy uncle of them who lives in the US, which in reality is very poor. Someday, this uncle sends a letter, possibly revealing that he is not rich, to Lia which is received by Solon but he doesn't open it in order to give it personally to Lia. Her brother tries to retrieve it but Solon leaves to his home with the letter in his wallet. Arriving home it is revealed he lost his wallet on a street and Lia is calmed down that the fraud is not revealed. Solon heads towards the police department to report the loss. Inntermittently, Timoleon "Timos" Lamprou, a very honest and stubborn accountant who frequently loses his job due to his character, finds the wallet and goes to Lia's home to return it. he refuses to give the letter to Lia as the letter is firstly directed to Solon Karaleon house and secondly in person is addressed to Lia. So Timos refuses to give it to Lia which makes her furious, angry and finally violent as she attempts to throw an ashtray to him. Before she throws the ashtray, Solon returns home and is given the letter and the wallet by Timos. Solon then gives the letter to Lia but she refuses to take it, wanting not to draw attention on her ersistence to have it.
