Le film fait partie de l'univers principal de la société Ankama, le Krosmoz et la planète du Monde des Douze, avec notamment les jeux vidéo Dofus et Wakfu et les séries animées Wakfu et Dofus : Aux trésors de Kerubim. Il se situe chronologiquement trois ans après ce dernier et deux siècles environ avant le jeu vidéo Dofus.
Il s'agit du premier long métrage des studios Ankama Animations et de ses réalisateurs, entièrement réalisé dans le nord de la France, à Roubaix. Fortement inspirés par l'univers du manga et du Club Dorothée, le film, sorti après cinq années d'écritures, reçoit des critiques mitigées par la presse et n'atteint pas les 90 000 entrées.
Synopsis
En l'An 400 à Bonta, majestueuse cité de la paix, le jeune Joris Jurgen vit tranquillement avec son père adoptif Kerubim Crépin, vieil homme-chat. Mais quand il essaye d'approcher sa plus grande idole, Khan Karkass, joueur de boufbowl, il se produit un événement diabolique : l'ignoble Julith, femme aux grands pouvoirs magiques, est de retour et veut prendre sa revanche en volant le Dofus Ébène (un œuf de dragon qui renferme d'étranges pouvoirs) ! Avec ses nouveaux amis Khan et Bakara, Joris pourra-t-il sauver sa ville ? Va-t-il pouvoir se libérer des griffes de l'abominable Julith ?Actors

Mario and Luigi are two Italian American plumbers living in Brooklyn, New York, who are currently being driven out of business by the mafia-like Scapelli Construction Company led by Anthony Scapelli. Later, Luigi falls in love with an orphaned NYU student named Daisy, who is digging under the Brooklyn Bridge for dinosaur bones. After a date, Daisy takes Luigi back to the bridge only to witness one of Scapelli's men sabotaging it by leaving the water pipes open. Unable to fix the flooding, Luigi and Daisy rush back to his apartment where they inform Mario about the incident. The trio returns to the flooding where the Mario Bros. manage to fix it but are knocked unconscious by Iggy and Spike, who proceed to capture Daisy.

In the prologue, a scientist named Tonio is reading a diary which belonged to a famous architect named Godey, his great-grandfather, indicating that two Pokémon between their dimension are fighting, and that the battle could lead to chaos. The movie starts with Junpei being kidnapped by a member of Strega, Chidori Yoshino, while Makoto and the rest are fighting Takaya, Jin, and the Shadow Arcana Hanged Man. As they're fighting, Makoto is knocked unconscious and sees a vision of Pharos, telling Makoto that he will be leaving despite Makoto's plead for him not to. Awakened, Makoto and his friends succeed in defeating the Shadow Arcana and save Junpei. Following the Shadow's defeat, Takaya and Jin retreat while Chidori is captured by SEES. The next day, Makoto and his friends along with Takeharu Kirijo decide to celebrate their victory for defeating all twelve Shadow Arcana and destroying Dark Hour. However, during the celebration party when the time reaches midnight, the Dark Hour started, shocking them. They then confront Ikutsuki at Tartarus, revealing that he had changed the recordings made by Yukari's father to lead them to defeating the twelve Shadow Arcana, which will bring the end of the world known as "The Fall". Using Aigis' controller, he controls Aigis to capture and crucify all SEES members except Takeharu whom Aigis holds at gunpoint. Takeharu breaks free and shoots Ikutsuki, but he is fatally shot as well by the latter, killing him. Just before Aigis could kill them, she regains control of herself and instead frees her friends. Cornered, Ikutsuki falls to his death from the tower due to his gunshot wound.

In 2065, Earth is infested by alien life forms known as Phantoms. By physical contact Phantoms consume the Gaia spirit of living beings, killing them instantly, though a minor contact may only result in an infection. The surviving humans live in "barrier cities", areas protected by an energy shield that prevents Phantoms from entering, and are engaged in an ongoing struggle to free the planet. After being infected by a Phantom during one of her experiments, Aki Ross (Ming-Na) and her mentor, Doctor Sid (Donald Sutherland), uncover a means of defeating the Phantoms by gathering eight spirit signatures that, when joined, can negate the Phantoms. Aki is searching for the sixth spirit in the ruins of New York City when she is cornered by Phantoms but is rescued by Gray Edwards (Alec Baldwin) and his squad "Deep Eyes", consisting of Ryan Whittaker (Ving Rhames), Neil Fleming (Steve Buscemi) and Jane Proudfoot (Peri Gilpin). It is revealed that Gray was once romantically involved with Aki.
