Synopsis

Un banquier est assassiné et la police soupçonne son neveu Raoul, qui est condamné à dix ans de bagne. Or, le véritable assassin est Théo, le frère de Ginette, la compagne de Francis dit Chéri-Bibi, un forçat évadé. Théo est assommé par Chéri-Bibi qui, dénoncé par Ginette, prend la fuite. Repris par la police, il retrouve en prison ses fidèles complices, La Ficelle et Fric-Frac ; Raoul (que Chéri-Bibi ne connait pas) fait aussi partie des prisonniers. Sur le bateau qui les conduit au bagne, les prisonniers menés par Chéri-Bibi tentent en vain de s’évader. Finalement, grâce à la complicité de la femme du patron de l’exploitation forestière où ils sont affectés, Chéri-Bibi et Raoul – qui souhaitent tous deux se venger de Théo – parviennent à s’évader du bagne avec leurs compagnons, mais Chéri-Bibi est grièvement blessé par les gardiens lancés à leur poursuite.

Jim is a 12-year-old outsider. He has a mother with anxiety and he lives a hard life. At school he is smallest in his class, and compelled to buy beer and smoke and have party's in his garage. Home is different: He's the father of the house, and takes care of his mother, who has isolated herself in bed with a video of the moon landing on VHS. She's not going out of her house due to anxiety. One day Terje (an overweight boy who claims to own a pit bull) starts in his class. He gets excluded from the class society, but he considers Jim as his best friend making him choose between an outsider friend and his poor social status.

FBI agent Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) is elated to learn that his stepson, Trent Pierce (Brandon T. Jackson), has been accepted to attend Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. However, Trent is uninterested and instead wants Malcolm to sign a recording contract for him since he is underage. When Malcolm refuses, Trent's best friends encourage him to ambush Malcolm on the job in order to obtain the signature. Malcolm, in an attempt to capture Russian gang member Chirkoff (Tony Curran), uses an informant named Canetti to deliver a flash drive to the gang, while Trent attempts to ambush Malcolm on the job. Canetti (Max Casella) reveals that the flash drive is empty and a duplicate is hidden with a friend at the Georgia Girls School for the Arts.

Norbit Albert Rice (Eddie Murphy) and Kate Thomas (Thandie Newton) are best friends as children at a combination Chinese restaurant and orphanage owned by their father figure, Mr. Wong (Eddie Murphy), but are separated when Kate gets adopted. While being bullied by twins on a playground one day, Norbit is saved by a tough, overweight girl named Rasputia Latimore (Eddie Murphy) who scares him into being her boyfriend. Though at first she genuinely likes Norbit and cares about him, going as far as intimidating other kids into letting Norbit play with them – Rasputia's kindness deteriorates as she grows up to be an ignorant, arrogant, vindictive, and mean-spirited woman. She eventually pressures Norbit into marrying her, and bullies, insults, and controls him to make sure that she keeps him all to herself. Norbit is also belittled by Rasputia's older brothers, Big Black Jack (Terry Crews), Blue (Lester 'Rasta' Speight), and Earl (Clifton Powell), working as a bookkeeper at their local construction company. The Latimore brothers also run a "security business" and instill fear in everyone in the town except Mr. Wong, who refuses to sell his establishment to them.

Bernard is a teacher in the suburbs and lives with Victoria. Didier is a wealthy Parisian pharmacist and is married to Murielle, Victoria's sister.
