This film is based on Dorothy Uhnak's crime-thriller novel, The Ledger. However, the main character "Christie Opara"—a white, New York Police detective—was dropped completely and "Christie Love" emerged.
Det. Olga Ford of the NYPD served as the series Technical Advisor.
Synopsis
The film was inspired by the 1970s heroine blaxploitation films such as Tamara Dobson's Cleopatra Jones (1973), and Pam Grier's Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974). The title character had a catchphrase; upon apprehending a criminal, Love would declare, "You're under arrest, Sugah!" The film proved a success, and consequently spawned a short-lived television series on the ABC network featuring Charles Cioffi as Love's supervisor, Lt. Matt Reardon, and later Jack Kelly as Capt. Arthur Ryan, the next supervisor. However, the series, financed on a meager budget and heavily sanitized to conform to Graves' religious morals (she had joined Jehovah's Witnesses since the making of the TV film), was eventually cancelled. One episode featured many of Graves' former Laugh-In co-stars such as Judy Carne, Jo Anne Worley and Arte Johnson in particular playing a mad bomber. Another notable guest star was Jaclyn Smith, who appeared in an episode entitled "A Fashion Heist.Actors

La position délicate de l'Allemagne face au peuple israélien n'est que suggérée dans le film, mais est dans les esprits de tous en raison du souvenir amer qu'a laissé la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ne laisse pas au gouvernement allemand de cette époque le droit à l'erreur. Pourtant tout cela va se finir dans un bain de sang atroce inévitable.

A former American Volunteer Group pilot, Harry Walker (David Janssen), who flies a Hughes 500C helicopter for Salt Lake City radio station KBEX as a traffic reporter, is introduced doing an afternoon rush-hour report during a station nostalgia promotion in which standards from the World War II era are being played on air. Opening credits run over aerial combat footage borrowed from the 1942 Republic Pictures film Flying Tigers, then segues into footage of a P-40 Warhawk in full sharkmouth scheme being towed along the highway to the radio station by Walker as part of the promotion.

In one of the poorer neighborhoods of Galveston, TX, a popular and respected black police officer nicknamed Mr. Cool (Ed Bernard) dies in a hail of bullets, and the only witness to the crime is 5-year-old Tommy (Anthony Wilson). In 1897, Mrs. Sarah Hargrave, a widow, and two young children (one of whom is the son of the castaways from the original film) are cast off from the ship they are travelling on, because the ship's crew are infected with cholera. After days afloat, Kearney, a sailor who has been sent with them, tries to kill the boy because of his excessive crying. Sarah angrily beats Kearney to death with a harpoon and dumps his body overboard. The trio arrives at and is stranded on a beautiful tropical island in the South Pacific. Sarah tries to raise them to be civilized, but soon gives up, as the orphaned boy Richard was born and raised by young lovers on this same island, and he influences the widow's daughter Lilli. They grow up, and Sarah educates them from the Bible, as well as from her own knowledge, including the facts of life. She cautiously demands the children never to go to the forbidden side of the island.
