Ghajini (Hindi: गजनी) is a 2008 Indian psychological thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena. The soundtrack and score is by A. R. Rahman. It is a remake of Murugadoss's own 2005 Tamil film of the same name starring Surya Sivakumar in the lead role along with Asin and it became the highest grossing movie of that year and the first Hindi film to cross the ₹100 crore mark. It stars Aamir Khan, Asin and Jiah Khan in lead roles while Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan essay supporting roles. The film's main plot was adapted from Christopher Nolan's Memento. and comedy plot was inspired by 1951 British movie Happy Go Lovely.
The film explores the life of a rich businessman who develops anterograde amnesia following a violent encounter in which his love interest, model Kalpana, was killed. He tries to avenge the killing with the aid of Polaroid Instant camera photographs and permanent tattoos on his body. Aamir Khan's character was featured in a 3D video game titled Ghajini – The Game, which is based on the movie. On release it became the highest grossing movie of all time until it was beaten by another Aamir Khan movie 3 Idiots the following year. Ghajini's paid preview collections were ₹27 million (US$410 000). With this movie, Asin made her debut in Bollywood.

Jagadish (Vijay), a captain in the Indian Army, returns to Mumbai from Kashmir. The film depicts the life of Bodhidharma (Suriya), a master of martial arts and medical remedies, who is depicted in the film as the son of a great Tamil king of the Pallava Dynasty. He is sent to China by his guru, who requests him to stop the spread of a pandemic disease existing there from spreading to India. Initially the people in China treated him as an inferior but later when he cures a little girl from the deadly disease and fights against some people who ill treated villagers there, the people of China began to respect and worship him. He begins to teach them how to cure many diseases, the skills of hypnotism and the physical training of the Shaolin monks that led to the creation of Shaolinquan. However, after several years, when he expresses his desire to return to India, the villagers plot to poison him and bury him near the temple, believing that their place would be disease free if he is buried there. Bodhidharma agrees to die and subsequently becomes a fundamental figure in Chinese history, affectionately being dubbed as "Damo".

Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol) is a blind Kashmiri girl who travels without her parents for the first time with a dance to Delhi to perform in a ceremony for Republic Day. Amar Kant Varma (Shahrukh Khan) is a Program executive for All India Radio. He is dispatched from New Delhi to cover festivities in Northeast India. On his way there, during a rainy night, Amar stops at Haflong train station to catch Baraks Valley express, as the train runs late, Amar meets a mysterious woman by herself who asks him for a cup of tea. Ramanaa begins with the abduction of fifteen Tehsildars. After three days in captivity, fourteen of the officers get released. However, one of the men gets murdered. The police finds a tape recording and a file from the man's body. This evidence exposes that the kidnapping and subsequent murder were committed by members of the self-proclaimed "Anti-Corruption Force" (ACF), a citizen militia seeking to eliminate corruption by any means necessary. The militia, acting as a kangaroo court, "sentenced" officials in the area to death - beginning with the captured revenue officers who were apparently engaging in criminal activity.

In the year 1990, Iqbal Haroon Khan (Jackie Shroff) runs The Great Indian Circus in Chicago, which has fallen on bad times. Anderson's (Andrew Bicknell) bank — Western Bank of Chicago —, which has lent money to Iqbal Khan, decides to close down the circus when Khan is unable to repay the loan. Young Sahir (Siddharth Nigam), the little son of Iqbal Khan, pleads with Anderson not to shut down his father's circus, as he and his father would soon be able to turn the corner. Siddharth "Siddhu "Marathe (Aamir Khan) is a Mumbai tapori, a boxing champion.
