Gramam (Namma Gramam) is an Indian bilingual film written, directed and produced by actor-producer Mohan Sharma. It was simultaneously made in Malayalam and Tamil languages under the titles Gramam and Namma Gramam, respectively. It stars Nishan, Samvrutha, Nedumudi Venu, Sukumari, Mohan Sharma, Y. G. Mahendraa, Nalini and Fathima Babu. The film, which was well received by critics upon its screening at various film festivals, won two National Film Awards and two Kerala State Film Awards among other laurels.

Gramam is the first part of a trilogy on the Palakkad Brahmin community. Set between 1937 and 1947, the film is about a child widow and how she fights societal conventions. The second and third parts of the trilogy will be respectively set between 1947-1962 and 1962-1975.

The film released in Kerala on 10 August 2012.

The film sheds light on the story of Aleena (Asha Jayaram), a widow and her four-year-old daughter Deepamol (Geethu Mohandas). Aleena lives with her daughter treasuring the memories of her late husband (Prathap Pothan) in a big house. She repeatedly dismisses the notion of remarriage. She is a painter and works in the advertising industry. Deepamol is a bubbly little girl always playing around with the telephone making random calls. One such call turns their life forever when Deepamol gets in contact with her "Telephone uncle" (Mohanlal). Deepamol gets attached to Telephone uncle very fast. Though Aleena was on the fence and skeptical of the man's intentions, she eventually falls in love. Telephone uncle resists the coercions from the mother and never reveals his name or whereabouts. Finally, he comes to their place on the night of Deepamol's birthday raising Aleena's hope for a better life, only to put an end to it within a very short time.

Punyam Aham is set in a small village in northern Kerala. Nanda (Revathi) is in love with a successful architect Narendaran (Mohan Lal), both of whom are living in Bangalore. They get engaged and are all set to marry when tragedy strikes. While they are talking on top of a construction building, Narendran accidentally slips and falls down, dying instantly. Depressed Nanda escorts Narendran's corpse to his homeland in Kerala. To her surprise she sees Narendran's twin brother Krishnan Unni (Mohan Lal), who looks exactly like Narendran. She thinks Narendran is not dead and everyone is trying to fool her. Narendran's parents want Nanda to marry Unni but he is already in love with Bhadra (Shobana). Bhadra tries to commit suicide and this shakes Nanda, Bhadra's dear friend, and Unni. Not wanting to be a burden on anyone and truly missing Narendran, Nanda commits suicide. Narendran's ghost, moments before Nanda's suicide, tells Unni that he is going to take Nanda with him to heaven since he really needs her, even in death. Unni is unsure if he just had an illusion, but to the viewers, it shown that Narendran's ghost was present and actually talking to Unni.
