Synopsis
Jack Towne vient d'hériter d'un million de dollars. Son oncle Mark lui conseille de faire attention aux étrangers. Sans tenir compte de ce conseil, Jack voit Doris qu'il a rencontrée dans un café. À l'insu de Jack, Doris, qui est à la recherche de l'argent pour payer l'hypothèque qui pèse sur la maison de sa mère, travaille pour un gang d'escrocs à la solde de l'oncle Mark pour donner une leçon à Jack. Doris piège Jack en le mettant dans une situation compromettante et ensuite le fait chanter. Elle refuse néanmoins d'aller jusqu'au bout car elle est tombée amoureuse de Jack, mais elle réalise que le gang veut réellement le faire chanter. Jack se révèle plus malin en engageant des détectives pour prendre au piège les escrocs. Il montre ainsi à son oncle qu'il peut s'occuper de ses affaires, et par la même occasion il libère Doris des griffes des escrocs.Actors

À San Francisco, Cassidy, un jeune vagabond tuberculeux, sent que sa mort est proche et cherche désespérément à retourner chez lui à New York. Il décide de cambrioler une maison pour trouver l'argent nécessaire, mais cette maison est celle du procureur Grant, qui le prend sur le fait. Après avoir entendu son histoire, Grant est si ému qu'il lui donne l'argent pour son voyage. Cette même nuit, la fille du procureur est kidnappée. Aidé par les conseils d'un ami barman, Cassidy réussit à la sauver et à la ramener chez elle. Mais, grièvement blessé, il meurt en arrivant à la gare.

Gino, quadragénaire d’origine italienne devenu un florissant propriétaire terrien et éleveur de moutons de l’État du Nevada, ne s’est jamais remis de la mort de sa femme Rossana. C’est pour cela qu’il a demandé par correspondance à Gioia, sœur de la défunte, de devenir sa femme sans toutefois l’avoir jamais rencontrée, car celle-ci vit en Italie. Gioia répond par l’affirmative et Gino va en Italie où il l’épouse puis revient avec elle au ranch familial. On comprend qu’il cherche un substitut à sa très regrettée première femme et incite d’ailleurs Gioia à se comporter comme la défunte. Or elle ne ressemble en rien à sa sœur, ni physiquement ni comme une femme discrète et soumise... Elle se confronte fréquemment à Gino malgré l’affection qu’elle éprouve pour lui alors qu’il ne lui témoigne qu’une triviale attention les moments où il ne la confond pas avec la défunte.

Based on Neil Swanson's Unconquered, a Novel of the Pontiac Conspiracy, the film focuses on "Abby" Hale (Paulette Goddard), who is condemned to death by a British court, then offered clemency if she will become an indentured servant in America. There is a bidding competition between Captain Christopher Holden (Gary Cooper) and Martin Garth (Howard Da Silva), which Holden wins. He then sets her free. Unfortunately, Garth is a sore loser; he kidnaps Abby and takes her to the western frontier, where he is involved in illegal arms sales to the Native Americans. Soon, Holden becomes involved in the conflict with the warring tribes and is reunited with Abby; he also has further confrontations with Garth and his henchman (Mike Mazurki).

Thomas Dunson (John Wayne) is a stubborn man who wants nothing more than to start up a successful cattle ranch in Texas. Shortly after he begins his journey to Texas with his trail hand, Nadine Groot (Walter Brennan), Dunson learns that his love interest (Coleen Gray), whom he had told to stay behind with the wagon train with the understanding that he would send for her later, was killed in an Indian attack. Despite this tragedy, Dunson and Groot press on. That night, Dunson and Groot, keeping watch, hear a group of Indians planning to attack them. They kill the Indians, and on the wrist of one, Dunson finds a bracelet he had been left by his late mother. One day before, he had presented it to his young love as he left the wagon train. The bracelet reappears significantly later in the film.

We see Mary Magdalene, here portrayed as a wild courtesan, entertain many men around her. Upon learning that Judas is with a carpenter she rides out on her chariot drawn by zebras to get him back. Peter is introduced as the Giant apostle, and we see the future gospel writer Mark as a child who is healed by Jesus. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is shown as a beautiful and saintly woman who is a mother to all her son's followers. Our first sight of Jesus is through the eyesight of a little girl, whom He heals. He is surrounded by a halo. Mary Magdelene arrives afterwards and talks to Judas, who reveals that he is only staying with Jesus in hopes of being made a king after Jesus becomes the king of kings. Jesus casts the Seven Deadly Sins out of Mary Magdalene in a multiple exposure sequence.
