Synopsis
À San Francisco, Cassidy, un jeune vagabond tuberculeux, sent que sa mort est proche et cherche désespérément à retourner chez lui à New York. Il décide de cambrioler une maison pour trouver l'argent nécessaire, mais cette maison est celle du procureur Grant, qui le prend sur le fait. Après avoir entendu son histoire, Grant est si ému qu'il lui donne l'argent pour son voyage. Cette même nuit, la fille du procureur est kidnappée. Aidé par les conseils d'un ami barman, Cassidy réussit à la sauver et à la ramener chez elle. Mais, grièvement blessé, il meurt en arrivant à la gare.Actors

Jack Towne vient d'hériter d'un million de dollars. Son oncle Mark lui conseille de faire attention aux étrangers. Sans tenir compte de ce conseil, Jack voit Doris qu'il a rencontrée dans un café. À l'insu de Jack, Doris, qui est à la recherche de l'argent pour payer l'hypothèque qui pèse sur la maison de sa mère, travaille pour un gang d'escrocs à la solde de l'oncle Mark pour donner une leçon à Jack. Doris piège Jack en le mettant dans une situation compromettante et ensuite le fait chanter. Elle refuse néanmoins d'aller jusqu'au bout car elle est tombée amoureuse de Jack, mais elle réalise que le gang veut réellement le faire chanter. Jack se révèle plus malin en engageant des détectives pour prendre au piège les escrocs. Il montre ainsi à son oncle qu'il peut s'occuper de ses affaires, et par la même occasion il libère Doris des griffes des escrocs.

Based on Neil Swanson's Unconquered, a Novel of the Pontiac Conspiracy, the film focuses on "Abby" Hale (Paulette Goddard), who is condemned to death by a British court, then offered clemency if she will become an indentured servant in America. There is a bidding competition between Captain Christopher Holden (Gary Cooper) and Martin Garth (Howard Da Silva), which Holden wins. He then sets her free. Unfortunately, Garth is a sore loser; he kidnaps Abby and takes her to the western frontier, where he is involved in illegal arms sales to the Native Americans. Soon, Holden becomes involved in the conflict with the warring tribes and is reunited with Abby; he also has further confrontations with Garth and his henchman (Mike Mazurki).

Silent film femme fatale, Louise Glaum, portrays the role of Mignon, a Parisian music hall celebrity. Mignon marries a young American civil engineer, John Stanley, portrayed by Matt Moore. Stanley is transferred to Egypt to work on an engineering project in the Sahara. Mignon and her son, portrayed by Pat Moore, join Stanley in the desert. Unhappy with life in the desert, Mignon leaves Stanley and her son in the desert and moves to Cairo with the wealthy Baron Alexis, portrayed by Edwin Stevens. Mignon lives in Baron Alexis' palace while Stanley goes blind and becomes addicted to the drug hasheesh. Mignon later encounters Stanley and her son, who have become beggars in the streets of Cairo. We see Mary Magdalene, here portrayed as a wild courtesan, entertain many men around her. Upon learning that Judas is with a carpenter she rides out on her chariot drawn by zebras to get him back. Peter is introduced as the Giant apostle, and we see the future gospel writer Mark as a child who is healed by Jesus. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is shown as a beautiful and saintly woman who is a mother to all her son's followers. Our first sight of Jesus is through the eyesight of a little girl, whom He heals. He is surrounded by a halo. Mary Magdelene arrives afterwards and talks to Judas, who reveals that he is only staying with Jesus in hopes of being made a king after Jesus becomes the king of kings. Jesus casts the Seven Deadly Sins out of Mary Magdalene in a multiple exposure sequence.

Texas Ranger Dusty Rivers (Gary Cooper) is sent to Canada during the 1880s in pursuit of outlaw Jacques Corbeau (George Bancroft), arriving in the midst of the Riel Rebellion.
