The film is based on Artem Alikhanian's biography.
Synopsis
Artyom Manvelyan is a famous physicist and founder of a cosmology laboratory in Aragats. With loyalty and gentleness, he keeps the memories of the World War period, lost love and his friends.Actors

Le film de Youli Karassik reprend les principales lignes de l'œuvre de Tchekhov. L'action se déroule au bord d'un lac dans la propriété de Sorine : ses convives s'apprêtent à assister à la représentation d'une pièce écrite par son neveu, Treplev. L'interprète principale, c'est Nina Zaretchnaïa, dont est éperdument amoureux Treplev. Parmi les invités, des personnalités célèbres comme la mère de Treplev, l'actrice Irina Arkadina, et l'écrivain Boris Trigorine, tous deux amants… Pour Nina comme pour Treplev le spectacle revêt une importance considérable, car, tous deux, rêvent d'une belle carrière. Mais, les spectateurs sont distraits, et Arkadina parle, à voix basse, de décadence. Blessé dans son orgueil, Treplev interrompt la représentation… Ensuite, Treplev, se sentant humilié et déconsidéré, dépose une mouette qu'il vient d'abattre aux pieds de Nina et lui annonce : « Je me tuerai de la même façon. » (Acte II) Plus tard, l'écrivain Trigorine, serrant son carnet, séduit Nina et confesse à la jeune femme : « Un sujet me vient à l'esprit... celui d'un petit conte : au bord d'un lac vit depuis son enfance une jeune fille... telle que vous. Elle aime ce lac comme une mouette, comme une mouette elle est heureuse et libre. Mais un homme arrive, par hasard, et, par désœuvrement, la fait périr, comme on a fait périr cette mouette. » C'est, peu après, la séparation, les adieux, en oubliant les discordes avec le gérant. Deux ans plus tard, on se retrouve dans la même demeure. Treplev habite encore là. Celui-ci est, à présent, un écrivain reconnu.

During the Russian Civil War (1918–1922), a female commissar of the Red Army cavalry Klavdia Vavilova (Nonna Mordyukova) finds herself pregnant. Until her child is born, she is forced to stay with the family of a poor Jewish blacksmith Yefim Magazannik (Rolan Bykov), his wife, mother-in-law, and six children. The plot is set in a town after a nuclear war, which was caused by a computer error and the failure of the operator to prevent the missile launch — he noticed the mistake, but choked on coffee and was not able to shout respective commands in time. The town is destroyed and polluted with radioactive elements. Police curfew is established in the immediate vicinity and only healthy people are selected for admittance to the underground bunkers. The main character, played by Rolan Bykov, is a Nobel Prize in Physics laureate, who tries to survive and helps a small group of children and adults survive by staying with them in the basement of the former museum of history. He survives by writing letters in his mind to his son Eric, though it is obvious that they will never be read. The main character is very disappointed that science has led to such a disaster. Many die from the radiation. He escapes the safe bunker, returning to the dying abandoned children, taking care of them for some time and giving them hope. Eventually he dies as well. The film ends with children wandering through the uninhabited landscape, their future uncertain.
