Hendthighelbedi (Kannada: ಹೆಂಡ್ತಿಗ್ಹೇಳ್ಬೇಡಿ, translation: Don't Tell My Wife) is a 1989 Indian Kannada comedy thriller film written and directed by Dinesh Babu. It stars Anant Nag and Mahalakshmi in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Sundar Krishna Urs, Devaraj, Tara, Bangalore Nagesh. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Vijayanand.
Set in Murnad, in the Kodagu region of Karnataka, the film tells the story of how Anand (Nag), a businessman and a meek husband of Chitra (Mahalakshmi), goes about tackling with double murder that he is wrongly accused of, by his friend and the culprit Srinivas (Urs). The film, upon release, received favorable reviews. At the 37th Filmfare Awards South, Nag was awarded the Best Actor.
Master Jagannath (Vishnuvardhan) is a disciplined school teacher happily married to Sneha (Suhasini). They both have a girl child named Meghana. Jagannath becomes the most favorite teacher among all the students for his unconditional love towards them. He is a close relative of the Home Minister (Avinash). His daughter is very close friends with Minister's daughter Aditi. Meanwhile, an underworld don Appu (Mukesh Rishi) is under the captivity of the Government and his aids are in a rage to get him released. They hatch a plan to kidnap Minister's daughter Aditi and demand for the release of Appu. By mistake, they kidnap Jagannath's daughter Meghana and demand for the release of Appu in exchange of Megahana. The emotional trauma undergone by the Jagannath's family and the Minister's efforts in releasing the child from the captivity forms the rest of the story.
Erandane Maduve revolves around the family of a senior government officer, his autocratic wife and three arrogant daughters. After being suspended for taking a bribe, Lokayukta officer Vishwanath (Ananth Nag) is left to be always in the house surrounded by his over powering wife and three careless daughters. To get back his respect, he gets help from his lawyer friend Murthy (Rangayana Raghu) and puts up a dramatized make believe plot that he has an affair with a young and sexy lass called Veena (Jennifer Kotwal) who starts visiting his home. On seeing this, the enraged and confused wife Malavika (Suhasini Maniratnam) seeks her bumbling brother's help (Sharan) to get revenge on the husband.
