Independence Day is a 2000 bilingual drama film shot in Tamil and Kannada, directed by A. R. Ramesh. The film stars Sai Kumar, Arun Pandian, Roja and Ranjitha in the lead roles. Music for the film was composed by Deva and the film opened to mixed reviews in August 2000.
Raja Mohamed (Arun Pandian), an honest police officer, is an happy head of family married to Ranji (Ranjitha) but he spends much more time in police station than at home. Chandru (Chandru) loved Sumathi and they arranged for the marriage. Few day later, Sumathi got lost since she tried to recover her entire money from the bank. Raja Mohamed investigates in this odd affair.

There, Snobir (Mansoor Ali Khan), a sadistic terrorist leader threatens the passengers for recovering the drugs.
