Synopsis
Raja Mohamed (Arun Pandian), an honest police officer, is an happy head of family married to Ranji (Ranjitha) but he spends much more time in police station than at home. Chandru (Chandru) loved Sumathi and they arranged for the marriage. Few day later, Sumathi got lost since she tried to recover her entire money from the bank. Raja Mohamed investigates in this odd affair.Actors

The film begins with the murder of a reputed heart surgeon Dr. Charles (Vijay Krishnaraj). The next day, Sivalingam (Manivannan) is killed by a mysterious person. The film began with the abandonment of a baby girl in a baby hatch and that baby was brought up in a government orphanage. Chandrasekhar (Mammootty) is an honest collector who arrests Vikram (Anandaraj), an international terrorist, in Delhi. He's transferred to Madras to eradicate the corruption. Chandrasekhar has two sisters, Priya (Jeeva) and Supriya (Roja). Priya is in love with Marudapandi (Charan Raj), a hopeless police officer and Chandrasekhar's friend. Meanwhile, Chandrasekhar is in love with Anita Sharma, a Punjabi girl, who he met in Delhi. Venkatraman, a corrupt politician, is suspected by Chandrasekhar for corruption. Chandrasekhar takes actions against his brothers-in-law, Vishnu (Madhan Bob) and Ramkumar (Udaya Prakash) and sent them to jail. Chandrasekhar gets a job promotion because his superiors hate his honest work, but he resigned and shew to the journalists the corruption proofs of all corrupted politicians. The people becomes angry and beats all corrupted politicians, Venkatraman's politic party doesn't even win a seat at the parliament. Chandrasekhar gets married with his lover in Punjab. Venkatraman's wife Vasanthi (Pallavi) was sent to jail for corruption. Venkatraman loses all his money and decides to take vengeance. Vikram, released from jail, wants also to revenge Chandrasekhar and becomes friend with Venkatraman. When Vikram decides to kill Chandrasekhar, he sees his sister Anita Sharma and promised her to protect his husband. Venkatraman's henchmen kidnaps Priya, when she escaped, she fell from the building and died. They also put a bomb in Supriya's handbag which exploded by killing Supriya and Marudapandi. Venkatraman kills Vikram but Chandrasekhar is suspected for Vikram's murder. Chandrasekhar escapes from the police and kills all corrupted politicians. Finally, Chandrasekhar gets applause for his actions but the court sends him to jail.

Chithambaram(S.Ve.Shekar),a good hearted simpleton from a rich family based in karaikudi is in love with his cousin Uma(Ilavarasi).Uma is a well educated girl and in love with Arun(Arun Pandian), her collegemate. when chithambaram's parents speak to uma's parents about their(chithambaram and uma) marriage,uma's mother insults chithambaram for his stupidity.so,chithambaram sets to find a job and earn money so that he can ask uma's hand for marriage with respect.But what ensues is a series of unexpected twists and turns for chithambaram as he is wrongly accused of smuggling,burglary and murder of a young woman all done in the same night of his first job offer by a wealthy and respectable man.And the impossibility of him having committed all three crimes gives him the benefit of doubt by the police who seeks the assistance of beemarao(visu),a CID inspector.Beemarao is threatened by goons on his arrival to karaikudi(the story is set in karaikudi and nearby localities) and he has his first doubt of someone else's hand in the crimes.he ventures upon finding the real criminals behind the mishappenings along with arun through clever deduction and effort. In the end what turns out to be another surprise is the identity of criminal himself.
