Karzzzz (Hindi: क़र्ज़, Urdu: قرض‎, pronunciation: qarz, translation: In Debt) is a 2008 Bollywood film directed by Satish Kaushik. It stars Urmila Matondkar and Himesh Reshammiya. It is a remake of Karz (1980) and also inspired by The Reincarnation of Peter Proud.The Reincarnation of Peter Proud is itself inspired by indian film Madhumati The film opened very strongly upon its release, did better business compared to Aap Kaa Surroor, but later became a disaster at the box office due to its high price selling cost estimated Rs 40cr, sold to Reliance Entertainment by T-Series. The hype created upon the film's trailer and Himesh Reshammiya's popularity were reasons behind the high price selling cost. This news was confirmed by the Himesh Reshammiya himself during a talk show while promoting his film Radio on etc channel.

Synopsis

Ravi Verma (Dino Morea) has just won a court case against Sir Judah (Gulshan Grover) and has legally received entitlement to several thousand acres of vineyards. He celebrates the victory by marrying the love of his life Kamini (Urmila Matondkar) and decides to bring her to meet his mother and his sister.

Rahul Verma (Arjun Rampal) and Karan Srivastav (Zayed Khan) are business partners. The film begins with the discovery of dead body of Pooja Sharma (Amisha Patel), Rahul's wife. Vishwanath is a multi-millionaire industrialist, living in a palatial house with his only child, a son named Vijay. A four member team—Vir Vijay Singh (Danny Denzongpa), Vikram (Milind Soman), Sheeba (Dipannita Sharma), and Victor (Sushant Singh) who are Indian Revenue Service officers belonging to the Income Tax Revenue Intelligence Wing, who have been wrongly implicated in the killing of their corrupt superior officer and removed from service, are hired by the Chief of the same agency to investigate a series of large illegal money transfers. The team is equipped with hi-tech equipment such as mini spy cameras, computers, internet and other communication devices. Through various encounters they discover that the money is being transferred to a Euro-Swiss Bank account. By means of an Indian employee, Sonal Joshi (Aditi Govitrikar) working in the Auckland (New Zealand) branch of the same bank, they investigate the account in New Zealand and, with her help, find that the money is being transferred to an international terrorist organization named KAALA KHANJAR. This organization, working in conjunction with Dost Khan (Gulshan Grover), manages to smuggle a Russian-made nuclear bomb into India. Dost Khan (Gulshan Grover) plans to explode the nuclear bomb on the same day, 16 December.
