Kattabomman is a 1993 Tamil comedy-drama film directed by Manivasagam. The film features Sarath Kumar and Vineetha in lead roles. The film, produced by Rajeswari Manivasagam, had musical score by Deva and was released on 13 November 1993 as a Deepavali release .
Synopsis
The village chairman Kalingarayan (Sakthivel) and his son Rajappa (Uday Prakash) spread terror among the villagers. Whereas Kattabomman (Sarath Kumar) is an angry man who cannot tolerate injustice. He was brought up by his grandfather (Nagesh) and his widowed mother. His family and Kalingarayan's family are in feud since several years. Kattabomman falls in love with Kalingarayan's daughter Priya (Vineetha) and he gets married with her without their family's wishes. In angry, his grandfather tells their past. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.Actors

Sakthi (R. Sarathkumar) and his best-friend Thangamani (Goundamani) are taxi-drivers in Mumbai. Sakthi fights for the Tamil community against the local rowdies who want to expel them from their area. The Tamil association of Mumbai prepares the 25th anniversary function so the association's presidents invite the pillars of the association but only one person doesn't respond for the invitation : Karpagavalli, the wife of the late founder Sandanapandian. The presidents go to Karpagavalli's village Pasumpon to invite her but they are driven out from the village. In fact, Karpagavalli (Srividya) and her relatives (Sivaranjani, Kavitha and Kokila) are held prisoners by the heartless Duraipandi (Raghuvaran) in his palace. Under pressure, Duraipandi finally lets Karpagavalli go to the function in Mumbai. In the meantime, the police officers force the Tamil community to leave their place but they refuse. So the police officers kidnap and rape the young girls under the influence of Amara Settu (K. Rajpreeth). Sakthi turns berserk, he kills all the police officers and the main antagonist Amara Settu who created conflicts between the Tamil people and Hindi people. Therefore, Sakthi becomes a hero for the community and they ask him to flee instead of surrendering. By chance, Sakthi and Thangamani take the same train as Karpagavalli. Karpagavalli asks them to come to her village and she compels Sakthi to become the palace's protector. Later, Sakthi and Thangamani try to leave the village but Karpagavalli stops them. In the process, Karpagavalli was heavily wounded by Duraipandi's henchmen.

G.K Rayudu (Kamal Haasan) is a corrupt Mayor and along with his assistant Charan Raj takes bribe and sells a market to a rich businessman and forces the poor people doing business in the land to move out threatening physical harm. Although Rayudu is married (to Srividya), he has a mistress. Rayudu comes to find out that his assistant and his mistress are married and has been cheating him out of his money for a long time. He finds the assistant’s stash of diamonds and takes it. After spending some time with his wife and kids, Rayudu gets a change of heart and decides to expose his and his assistant’s illegal activities. Before he leaves, he hides the diamonds inside one of his children’s toys. His assistant finds out, murders Rayudu in a fit of rage and stores the body in a freezer.

Sethupathy (Kamal Haasan) is an honest and upright police officer. When he arrests four bigwigs Dharmaraj (Nagesh), Francis Anbarasu (Delhi Ganesh), Nallasivam (Nasser) and Satyamoorthy (Jaishankar), they escape justice easily and return to take revenge. They kill him and poison his wife (Srividya). She escapes and gives birth to twins with the help of another woman Muniyamma (Manorama) but the babies are separated and each woman believes that the other is dead because of the events happening next to birth. One of the twins, Raja (Kamal Haasan) grows up as a mechanic with Muniyamma, while the other twin, Appu (Kamal Haasan), a dwarf, grows up in the circus with his mother.

Jagannathan, (Sarath Kumar) fondly known as Jaggubhai is an Indian Police Officer with sharp methods. His way of dealing the criminals strikes terror in the underground world.
