The film was Akshay Kumar's breakthrough role and also stars Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Sabeeha. While Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan and Johnny Lever played supporting roles. Khiladi was the first installment in the Khiladi (film series) which had Khiladi in the title and Akshay Kumar in the leading role. It was followed by Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), International Khiladi (1999), Khiladi 420(2000) and Khiladi 786 (2012). Khiladi was critically and commercially success at the box-office and the tenth highest grossing film of 1992. It was Akshay Kumar's first successful movie and was declared a "HIT" at the box office.
Synopsis

A voice-over by RD (Anil Kapoor) introduces the four main characters: Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) who runs a successful business he inherited from his father. His younger brother Rajiv Singh (Akshaye Khanna) who mooches off of Ranvir and is an alcoholic. Ranvir is dating an upcoming model Sonia (Bipasha Basu), while his personal assistant Sophia (Katrina Kaif) appears to be secretly in love with him. Ranvir is also involved in an intense competition with a rival horse-owner Kabir (Dilip Tahil). The film opens with a murder plot involving a car accident which Ranvir narrowly survives. When Ranvir loses money in a race because his jockey had been bribed by Kabir, Ranvir plants a bomb in the jockey's car and kills him, showing Ranvir to be a ruthless businessman.

The story revolves around the life of Sophia (Urvashi Sharma) who lives in Goa. When she is stalked and then attacked by a rapist named Rakesh, Sophia re-locates to Dubai.
