Mowgli is living in the Man Village with the girl who lured him in, Shanti, his adopted brother Ranjan, and their parents. However, Mowgli longs to return to the fun of the jungle, and after nearly leading the other children of the village into the jungle, is punished by his adopted father for trying to lead them into danger. Meanwhile, in the jungle, Shere Khan has returned to Baloo and Bagheera's part of the jungle to exact revenge on Mowgli. Baloo sneaks into the Man Village and gets Mowgli to come with him to live in the jungle; however, unbeknownst to them, Shere Khan also infiltrated the village, only to be chased off by the village people. In the ensuing chaos of the tiger's attack, Shanti and Ranjan go into the jungle to retrieve Mowgli, believing that Baloo is a hostile animal and kidnapped the boy.

A new heroine has arrived in Gotham whose identity is a mystery— even to Batman. Le film se déroule dans l'Arctique au début du XXI siècle. Un couple d'ours se prépare à la venue au monde de leur ourson en bavardant avec un corbeau maladroit. Par malheur, ils sont pris en chasse par une meute de loups, auxquels ils échappent après une poursuite mouvementée ; mais quelque temps après, l'ourse donne naissance à un ourson mort-né. Au même moment, l'épouse d'un chasseur inuit accouche d'un fils en pleine santé qu'ils nomment « Petit Ours ». Pendant ce temps, l'ourse est inconsolable après la mort de son petit. L'ours tente de la consoler par tous les moyens, puis, désespéré, erre sur la glace et arrive aux abords de la maison du chasseur au moment où celui-ci est absent. Il s'approche de la maison, aperçoit le nouveau-né et profite d'un moment où la mère a le dos tourné pour entrer dans la maison et s'emparer du petit. Malgré les efforts de la femme, il parvient à s'enfuir. Dès son retour, le chasseur se lance à la poursuite de l'ourse mais ne parvient pas à le rattraper.

In Neo-Gotham City, the Joker mysteriously resurfaces after having disappeared 35 years ago, taking over a faction of the criminal gang Jokerz. On his orders, they steal high-tech communications equipment. Despite the intervention of Terry McGinnis (Bruce Wayne's successor as Batman), the Joker escapes. Bruce insists that the Joker must be an impostor, claiming to have witnessed the Joker's death after their last battle. Unwilling to let Terry face the Joker—impostor or not—Bruce demands that he return the Batsuit. The Joker attacks Bruce in the Batcave, leaving him for dead. Terry, after fending off an attack from the Jokerz, finds Bruce near dead from the Joker's trademark toxin and quickly administers an antidote, tending to Bruce with the help of Barbara Gordon, who is now the commissioner of the GCPD.

In the 1880s, an English couple and their infant son escape a burning ship, ending up on land near uncharted rainforests off the coast of Africa. The couple craft themselves a treehouse from their ship's wreckage, but are subsequently killed by Sabor, a rogue leopardess. Kala, a female gorilla who recently lost her own child to Sabor, hears the cries of the orphaned human infant and finds him in the ruined treehouse. Though she is attacked by Sabor, Kala and the baby manage to escape. Kala takes the baby back to the gorilla troop to raise as her own, an act of which her mate, Kerchak, disapproves. Kala raises the human child, naming him Tarzan. Though he befriends other gorillas in the troop and other animals, including the young female gorilla Terk and the paranoid male elephant Tantor, Tarzan finds himself unable to keep up with them, so he takes great efforts to improve himself. As a young man, Tarzan is able to kill Sabor with his crude spear and protect the troop, gaining Kerchak's reluctant respect.

The film begins with GloboTech Industries acquiring the Heartland Toy Company. CEO Gil Mars tells remaining toy designers Larry Benson and Irwin Wayfair to develop actual live-action toys capable of "playing back". Mars selects Larry's action figures, the Commando Elite, for the project and Irwin's educational toys, the Gorgonites, for their enemies. After Mars sees a commercial showing the toys doing activities they are incapable of doing, he accuses them of false advertising, saying Globotech delivers on what it promises. Mars then orders Benson to have the toys on the shelves in three months acting just as they do in the commercial or get fired. Faced with such a tight deadline, Benson forgoes safety testing, then uses Irwin's password and chooses GloboTech's overly powerful, X1000 intelligent AI munitions microprocessor integrated circuit to control the toys.
