Mahakaal (Bengali: মহাকাল) is a 2008 Bengali film directed by Swapan Ghosal. Mahakaal is basically a revenge story based on Anil Kapoor- Madhuri Dixit Starred Parinda. Indira Dhar,debut this film,21 year of age, is heroine in the film. She find her romancing with Prosenjit. She plays the role of a college goer Ratri) who falls in love with Prosenjit (Joy). Sangeeta Dhar has hosted few TV shows like Wishing Subhodin and Tollywood Reported at Sangeet Bangla but Mahakaal is her first appearance in big flat screen!
Synopsis
“Prof. Ajoy Mukherjee” and his spouse “Aditi” witness a murder, committed by the vociferous criminal “Digbijay”. In spite of repeated warnings from “Digbijay” and his right hand “Loha” the Professors give witness against them and they go to jail for 7 years. After coming out Djgbibay turns out to be even stronger. He attacks Ajoy’s family. He sends a man called “Binod Sharma” who pretends to be the friend of Joy (Ajoy’s brother). Digbijay and Binod conspire against Joy and Ajoy. After sending his own man to rob Joy of two lack rupees, Binod compels Joy to do a murder. In the meantime Digbijay stabs Ajoy and Joy gets entangled for the murder of his brother. A local inspector Dilip Lahiri also turns out to be a peer of Digbijay. While Joy remains in police custody, Digbijay tactically rapes and murders Joy’s younger sister Dia. After all these incidents Joy’s sister-in-law Aditi commits suicide. Joy teams up with his friend Kanchan and Kumar to seek revenge killing Binod, Dilip, Loha and Digbijay one after the other. Joy and his friends are jailed for 5 years.Actors

Aditya Choudhury (Tapas Paul) is a faction leader in Kurnool who raised his sister Saraswati (Laboni Sarkar) with love and affection to make her forget the loss of their mother. During the marriage time, she eloped with Mohsin Khan (Rajatava Dutta), whom she loved which led the death Aditya Choudhury's father. Thus enraged Aditya cuts the leg of Mohsin which created a rift between the two families. On a case to win the property belonging to Saraswati, Mohsin wins the case on Aditya Choudhury after a long gap of 25 years. Here we find the story of a middle-class family struggling financially. The family consists of two sisters, mother and father. Prosenjit Chatterjee as a Rana is the main and a promising character here. We find him to be a daredevil and a terrific fighter against injustice. Once he was travelling with his pregnant sister in a train, he begged everybody for a seat for his sister to sit, but no one paid heed to it. There were some burglars in the train who started looting but Rana saved it from happening. By this act of his he was given the job of a police officer. In Rana's area of jurisdiction there lived an MLA name Bikas. He was a very corrupt politician and indulged in all illegal activities. There lived another man Azad who fought against injustice everywhere. Now this minister's girl Jaya, fell in love with Rana. Once it so happened that while Rana's sister was about to give birth to her child, this minister, Bikas, tried to kill Rana, but his sister was injured and ultimately died. Then Rana decided to take revenge but was initially not allowed to do so. Ultimately MLA Bikas's real character was revealed and in a serious fighting with Rana MLA Bikas dies.

Akash (Prosenjit), a determinate man. Plans set up an advertising agency. We see huge ceremonial accordion when this Akash comes back home during Puja. When he returns to the city, his friend Prabat dutta (Tapas Pal) tells him that he has fallen in lane with a girl named Arundhati (Rituparna Sengupta), to he sends his friend Akash to Arundhati's parents to talk about the marriage of Prabat Dutta & Arundhati. Arundhati on the contrary loves another boy named Nirmalya, when she later discovers fat he will marry here if her father invests the required sum of money demanded by him. Now she becomes terribly helpless, because she also rejected kash's friend Prabat Dutta's proposal of marriage. At pont of time, Akash save him the required love & affection so they felt in love with each other. Before marriage Arundhati's father disclosed a secret of Akash, that Arundhati is not their own child they have adopted her. Accidentally Arundhati comes to know about the fact & she becomes terribly depressed. On the same day Akash's grandfather name to see Arundhati. This fact was bringing kept a secret from his grandfather, but he came to know from their servant Hari Da. After marriage when Akash's family members came to know about the fact, they behaved very badly with her but his grandfather gave her the required love & affection & always supported her. Here, Akash's sister became pregnant & the boy she loved died. After giving birth to the child she also died, Arundhati & Akash adopted the child. This story gives us the lesson that a person’s birth doesn't matter, what matters is his/her behaviour of work.

Dr. Ankhu(Dipankar Dey) a heart specialist has lost his wife and lives with their son, Sudhanshu(Prosenjit). Eventually Dr. Ankhu marries again and his new wife, Bonashri takes good care of Sudhanshu(Prosenjit), whom she likes very much. Sudhanshu falls in love with Joysree(Rituparna Sengupta), a charming girl, Joysree. as the relationship blossoms, Joysree sreveals the secret about her parentage. She is an orphan who lost her mother as a child. She was brought up by three eunuchs, who took very good care of her. Even after listening to all this, Sudhanshu decides to marry her and puts forward the proposal to his parents. His father does not agree to the match but his step mother supports him in his decision. In the mean time, Sudhanshu meets with an accident. At this time Joysree takes very good recovery and he recovers fast. Dr. Ankhu realises that Joysree is indeed the right match for his son and agrees to the marriage.
