Marmmaram is a 1982 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Bharathan. The film stars Nedumudi Venu, Bharath Gopi, Jalaja and KPAC Lalitha in lead roles. The film had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan. The film won Kerala State Film Awards including Best Lyrics for Kavalam Narayana Panikkar.

Usha(Zarina Wahab) comes to her sister's house for relief from a terrible tragedy of her life which is the accidental death of her lover Ravi played by Shankar. Their friendship eventually turn into love, but Ramankutty's mother does not allow this proposal. Usha slowly realizes that Vasu Menon's feelings for her are wayward, but she does not tell her sister as she fears that this will ruin their family. So Usha decides to go back to her home on the way she meets Ramankutty who has convinced his mother about he marrying Usha.

Lathika is a working single mother of a son named Jagadish. Her flashback reveals a happy life in her village with her widowed mother and her cousin Sreekumar, his parents -her uncle & aunt and their grandmother. She is in love with her cousin who works in the Gulf and they are engaged to be married. Sreekumar leaves for the Gulf after a trip back home, and Lathika waits for the day of his return and their impending marriage. Arjunan, a close friend's brother on a fateful rainy day drives Lathika home in his car but the former can not control his feelings and hence rapes her. Lathika becomes pregnant. She moves to a big city to give birth to the child, and her mother passes away in the shock.

Thakara (Prathap Pothan) is an orphan. He is mentally immatured but clean hearted. He has a close relationship with Subhashini (Surekha), the dream girl of the village. Thakara was betrayed by the words of Chellappanashari (Nedumudi Venu) and indulges in a physical relationship with Subhashini. Subhashini's father Mathu Mooppan (K. G. Menon) finds out their relation and beats Thakara unconscious. Thakara, fully filled with revenge on Mooppan, runs away. Once he earns enough money to buy a knife, he returns and kills Mooppan. Subhashini refuses to go with Thakara, who proposes her after killing her father. With no way to escape, Thakara finds his end in front of a running train.
