Moondravadhu Kann (English: Third Eye) is a 1993 Tamil thriller film directed by Manivannan. The film features Sarath Kumar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Raja and Monisha in lead roles. The film, produced by M. Rajarathinam, had musical score by Deva and was released on 18 September 1993.

Synopsis

Priya (Monisha), a rich girl, is in love with Sundar (Raja), a poor youth. Priya tries to elope with him but she fails and her father (Vinu Chakravarthy) and her mother (Srividya) lock her in her bedroom. From there, Priya witnesses the murder of Shanthi (Yuvasri) by her husband Sabapathy (Nizhalgal Ravi) in the opposite building. She takes photos of this murder and Sabapathy notices this act.

The film begins with Azhagiri (Vijayakanth) in serious condition in hospital because he was shot by the police. In the past, Azhagiri was a military officer and got married with Raasathi (Gouthami). After spending few years in military camp, Azhagiri rejoined his wife and his daughter. They shifted to Ramu's house, Ramu (R. Sarathkumar) was his friend and his superior Chakravarthy's son. Few years ago, Ramu teased Raasathi and he was beaten for this act along with his friends Vishwanath (Vishwanath) and Vijay (Vijay Krishnaraj). They cannot forget the humiliation. They tried to rape Raasathi but she committed suicide before. Azhagiri first killed Vishwanath in a public place. Azhagiri was arrested and sentenced to the death penalty. The day before his penalty, he escaped from the jail but the police found him and shot him. Azhagiri is now cured and sees Vijay in the hospital's bed. As last wish, Azhagiri begged the police to stay in the hospital for few more days. Azhagiri also killed Vijay smoothly without anyone suspect him. Azhagiri manages to escape from the hospital with the nurse's help. Azhagiri is now determinated to kill Ramu before the police catches him.

Arukkani (Suhasini Maniratnam) is an illiterate village girl and her father is upset to not find her a groom. One day, her father meets his old friend Bhoothalingam and shares his sadness, Bhoothalingam proposes his son to marry her and Arukkani's father accepts. Murali (Mohan), Bhoothalingam's son, is an handsome man and also a successful sales manager. He doesn't see his future wife yet and he is excited to see her. At his marriage's day, Murali is shocked to see his future wife Arukkani who is ugly and gets married with her anyway. Murali feels very disappointed and cannot bear her. He takes a transfer to Bangalore leaving his father and his wife. In Bangalore, he gets friendly with his colleague Julie (Radha), who is modern and good-looking. They fall in love with each other and they get married. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
