It features a huge ensemble cast including Sunil Dutt, Reena Roy, Jeetendra, Feroz Khan, Sanjay Khan, Vinod Mehra, Kabir Bedi, Rekha, Yogeeta Bali and Mumtaz. The film was declared a super hit by Box Office India.
It was inspired by François Truffaut's film The Bride Wore Black, based on Cornell Woolrich's novel of the same name. The film was later remade in Telugu as Devathalara Deevinchandi (1977) with Jayamalini in the Nagin role. It was also remade in Tamil with Sripriya playing the Nagin role in the film Neeya.
Later Rajkumar Kohli re-made this film in 2002 with his son and other starcast, titled as Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, which fared poorly and generated negative reviews; critics blamed the poor screenplay and direction as the result of the failure.
Synopsis
According to a myth, when snakes are of certain age, they can assume human form. Thus, the film begins with a male and a female in their human forms, singing and dancing amorously with each other. When the male turns back into a snake, he is shot by a member of a hunting party, who thought the snake was going to attack the woman. The rest of the story deals with the female taking revenge on the group of friends responsible for her lover's death. In the end, Vijay is the only one alive and the nagin dies before killing him and realizes that she was wrong and that her revenge destroyed many lives just like her own life was destroyed. Near death, she sees her beloved in the sky calling out to her. She dies and reunites with him in heaven.Actors

Jwala Prasad is to marry the girl of his dreams. On the day of the marriage, his wife is dressed all in red. Just before the wedding she slips off to meet her real lover. When Jwala finds out, he is so enraged that he turns into a monster and kills both his to-be wife and her lover. The saga does not end here, and Jwala as a monster continues to terrorize the region, first abducting brides dressed in red just before the wedding procession stops at a Mandir (temple). When a groom finally confronts and kills the monster, it leaves the body of Jwala Prasad and possesses the body of its killer. And the terror continues. Years later another man has now killed this creature, and the monster has possessed the man's body, and it is again on a killing spree. The police of this region do confront this creature, but find out it is invincible,bullets cannot harm it, nor can physical strength of fully grown men overpower it. The suspense mounts as one by one the brides are killed off and no one seems to have a clue. Everybody seems to be suspect, including the village Priest, the Thakur, his son, and several other people. Even if they do manage to kill this creature, it will simply re-possess the body of another male, and continue its gruesome task. The movie was a box office hit of 1979, all of the songs of this film became hits. A superb movie of yesteryears with multistar cast.

Jesu and Peter are childhood friends who live in a coastal village in India and depend on fishing as their livelihood. The community is oppressed by a powerful gangster named Alphonso. George States (Jeff Doucette) is suffering from the last stage of brain cancer and has only six months to live. The story revolves around a big group of friends consisting of Atul (Akshay Kumar), Vijay (Sunil Shetty), Divya (Manisha Koirala), Vivek (Sonu Nigam), Prem (Aftab Shivdasani), Abdul (Arshad Warsi) and Rajesh (Rajat Bedi) amongst others. Divya is a reincarnated soul who herself is unaware of this. When Rajesh raped Divya, she commits suicide thinking that all of her friends were involved in the rape. The rest of the friends are completely unaware of anything and are innocent. When Kapil (Armaan Kohli), the lover of Divya's previous life finds out about her death, he comes back to life to get revenge from all of the group. As a punishment, Rajesh is strangled to death first. This is followed by Abdul being electrocuted. Although Atul & his other friends don't have a chance to tell Divya that they're truly innocent, they're not going to forgive Divya & Kapil because two innocent people including Abdul are already dead. Rajesh was the only guilty person. It would've been better for Divya & Kapil to ask them if Abdul was guilty or not? A priest (Raj Babbar) gives the group of friends a necklace and assures them that they cannot be harmed when they are wearing the necklace. Atul doesn't believe in any of this. However, when he is attacked by Kapil, he realizes he survived because the necklace was stuck on his hand.

A team of researchers funded by a Manhattan pharmaceutical firm – Jack Byron, Gordon Mitchell, Sam Rogers, Gail Stern, Cole Burris, and Ben Douglas – leave for a jungle in Borneo to search for a "blood orchid", a flower they believe can be used as a type of fountain of youth. Though their guide Bill Johnson has misgivings about which path to take, Jack bribes him to take an unsafe path. The team goes over a waterfall and has to wade through the river. A giant anaconda emerges from the water and swallows Ben whole, but the rest of the team escapes the river. Bill assures them that it was the largest snake he has ever seen and that it should take weeks for it to grow hungry again; however, most of the team demands that the expedition be called off. They travel to Bill's friend, John Livingston, who lives on the river to see if Johnson can borrow his boat; however, they find Livingston dead and his boat crashed.
