Nenu (Telugu: నేను) is a Telugu film released on April 15, 2004 starring Allari Naresh, Veda, and Abhishek. This film was directed by E. Sathibabu and produced by Mullapudi Brahmanandam. It's a remake of Tamil blockbuster movie Kaadhal Kondein, which starred Dhanush and Sonia Agarwal in lead roles. The film was a flop at the box office but received good critical acclaim, mainly for Allari Naresh's performance as Psychotic Lover.

Synopsis

Vinod (Allari Naresh), who has grown up under the care of a church father (Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao), is an introvert but a genius. He is forcibly sent to a college in Vizag by the father but is a complete misfit in class. Though shunned by the rest of his class, Divya (Veda) becomes his friend and he gradually warms up to her too. His feelings soon turn into love but he realizes that Divya considers him as only a friend. But he is unwilling to let her go. Meanwhile Vinod learns that Divya is in love with another classmate, Abhi (Abhishek).

There are two brothers called Bommana Brothers (Allari Naresh and Krishna Bhagavaan) who were thieves by profession and their parents (Tanikella Bharani and Kovai Sarala) always encourage them to do thefts as they too practise the same. Once, these Bommana Brothers cheat a bank manager (Dharmavarapu Subramanyam) and escape with the money. Of course, they get caught by the police and escape from the police too with the help of their father. Then, they accidentally look at the photograph of two sisters and gather information about them. They are Mani Chandana (Farjana) and Siri Chandana (Rithima) and both of them are the daughters of Mohan Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao), the owner of popular cloth business chan.

The film begins with a baby taking his first steps on a beach supported by his father. Sirisha accepts his love and leaves to see her mother to seek her blessings for marriage. But her mother plans something else for her. She tries to marry her off with her cousin Sriram (Achyuth). Sirisha writes a letter to Bhaksar to take her away and save her from this marriage. Kalyan is shocked, when he knows that Bhaskar is trying to marry the same Sirisha, who rejected his offer, but agrees to bring her. Kalyan manages to bring Sirisha to Bhaskar’s house, but Bhaskar’s parents oppose this marriage by insulting Sirisha. Kalyan loses his temper and hits Bhaskar’s father adding fuel to fire. A disheartened Sirisha leaves their house, but is saved by Kalyan and taken to his house. His father Muddu Krishnayya and servant, Malli (Mallikarjuna Rao) suspect their relationship, and this suspicion spreads in Kalyan’s friends circle. Sirisha accuses Kalyan of all this rumors and this brings about a change in Kalyan’s attitude towards woman and his life. He decides to marry Sirisha and asks his father to help him in this regard. But his father insults her and she leaves their house and returns to her mother. Kalyan, after learning his father’s mistake, reaches Sirisha’s house, but is discouraged by her cousin and mother. He goes on a hunger strike till she accepts his love. In the end Muddu Krishnayya apologises for his mistake and unites the lovers.
