Nirop (translation: Farewell) is a 2007 Marathi film directed by Sachin Kundalkar and produced by Aparna Dharmadhikari under the banner "Salaam Cinema". The film stars Sameer Dharmadhikari and Devika Daftardar in lead roles.

The film won the Best Feature Film in Marathi Award at the 55th National Film Awards. The award citation mentions the film as "An original offbeat film that gives a fresh perspective of the internal landscapes of the human mind".

Synopsis

Shekhar (Sameer Dharmadhikari) and Jui (Devika Daftardar) are married for three years and are a relatively happy couple. Shekhar is a flautist and has a music assignment in France. Before leaving for France, he wants to visit his hometown one last time. So he takes a short trip to Konkan, along with Jui. On their holiday, they are joined by their friends; Shekhar’s bold and forward friend and MTV Producer Tara, his French music companion Per Barrow and Jui's brother Ishant who aspires to be a music director.

Lagnaachya Vayachi Mulgi (English: A Bride To Be) Veena is a young girl who works in a college and is now a bride to be. Her parents are looking for a suitable groom for her. But due to her dark complexion, she is not able to get any groom. Mangesh, an arts student from the college accidentally meets her and she starts loving the fragrance that he brings with himself. She hears a rumour from her colleague that Mangesh is alcoholic and hence is drowsy in his classes and comes with red-eyes. Samir Sahni is a farmer living with his mom, dad, wife, Rama, a young daughter, and his younger brother, Veer. Samir gets an offer to work in the U.K., and departs accordingly. What he finds are tens of thousands of East Indians on fake passports, working for less than minimum wages, poor unhealthy conditions, fear of being deported, and paying half of their earnings to fellow East Indians who had got them here through the underground. Veer finds no sign of his brother, and sets out to investigate, only to find deceit, murder, and his very own life in danger.
