Synopsis
Après avoir découvert la double vie de son père, Blanche Davis quitte le domicile familial et, sous une fausse identité, obtient un emploi à San Francisco dans le cabinet d'avocats Blair et Randolph. Elle s'éprend de Randolph, ils vivent bientôt en concubinage. Lorsque le père de Blanche vient à San Francisco avec sa jeune sœur, Randolph tombe amoureux de celle-ci et Blair, qui est amoureux de Blanche, l'emmène sur la côte est. Le père donne un chèque à Randolph pour qu'il arrange ses affaires avec son ancienne maîtresse. Blanche décide, pour le bonheur de sa sœur, de ne pas empêcher son mariage.Actors

Thomas Dunson (John Wayne) is a stubborn man who wants nothing more than to start up a successful cattle ranch in Texas. Shortly after he begins his journey to Texas with his trail hand, Nadine Groot (Walter Brennan), Dunson learns that his love interest (Coleen Gray), whom he had told to stay behind with the wagon train with the understanding that he would send for her later, was killed in an Indian attack. Despite this tragedy, Dunson and Groot press on. That night, Dunson and Groot, keeping watch, hear a group of Indians planning to attack them. They kill the Indians, and on the wrist of one, Dunson finds a bracelet he had been left by his late mother. One day before, he had presented it to his young love as he left the wagon train. The bracelet reappears significantly later in the film.

Based on Neil Swanson's Unconquered, a Novel of the Pontiac Conspiracy, the film focuses on "Abby" Hale (Paulette Goddard), who is condemned to death by a British court, then offered clemency if she will become an indentured servant in America. There is a bidding competition between Captain Christopher Holden (Gary Cooper) and Martin Garth (Howard Da Silva), which Holden wins. He then sets her free. Unfortunately, Garth is a sore loser; he kidnaps Abby and takes her to the western frontier, where he is involved in illegal arms sales to the Native Americans. Soon, Holden becomes involved in the conflict with the warring tribes and is reunited with Abby; he also has further confrontations with Garth and his henchman (Mike Mazurki).

Cowboy drifter Jim Garry is summoned by his friend, smooth-talking Tate Riling. Garry rides into an Indian reservation and finds himself in the middle of a conflict between a cattle owner and some homesteaders.
